Bald or Gray?

Is the Powerful Image today in honor of rainjack?

Then there’s this dilemna of having a funny shaped skull. Which is worse: lumpy-head or Donald Trump.

I don’t care for bald guys. It’s a big deal especially since I tend to go for older guys. It’s important enough to me I look closely at family pics to check genetics. Gray is okay, blending it with blonde highlights is a good idea. Making it look like summer kissed hair. For the brunnettes out there spritz with a couple cups of cooled coffee, leave in for 10 minutes, and the gray will hide nicely as a highlight. Cheap, chemical free, and not obviously dyed.
I am offended by this. What did a bald guy ever do to you?

I shave my head daily. I hate brushing, shampooing and generally caring for hair. It is better this way and I generally don’t run into too many women who think like this.

How wiould you rate this compared to the Mach 3 razor by Gillette? I’ve seen ads for this thing and the way you hold it screams “cuts and gashes”.

When I would shave my head - I would hold my Mach 3 down low kind of like a headblade.

Besides, the headblade looks like your shaving with a little hotwheels.

I’d be interested to know how the two compare as well. I’ve been shaving my head ever since I got tired of combing out my afro…

Here is my bald head shaved with a Mach 3, attached to an MMP from May of last year (~185). Coupled with the trained physique, I would say you’ll gain more female approval than you lose. And when you frown, people do not bother you past a certain size point.

I have no complaint with using the Mach 3 Turbo, which I personally choke up pretty high on. Once per 2-3 days is ideal unless you are into the “uniform stubble” look (last season’s D&G ads were like this for lack of a more culturally accessible example). The worst possiblity is user error with the lather leading to skin irritation. But the shave will still be close once the redness subsides (eek).

P.S. My hair would be wavy. (The unattainable ideal of the dreaded S-curl to be exact, but it grows that way because I am mixed–for all those who know what I’m talking about. :)I am giving the afro a farewell tour as each hair races valiantly against fate to grow long before it falls out.

My chin is as gray as you can get. When I shave for hte summer everyone thinks I’m in my late 20’s, then in teh winter they see the gray and figure I"m in my late 30’s.

Well you are actually typical for a lot of men.

My daughter has offered to buy me the Ron Poppeal spray on bald spot cover instant hair stuff or the “Just for Men” beard color.

You have to tell her grey is a badge of honor. It comes from maturity and having daughters. Trust me I know.

I just except that gray comes with age.
Oh, the picture of me is just an illustration of what the Mach 3 hath wrought. Not meant to hijack at all.

I think you should eat more.

Jana finally told me what she disliked about my baldness. In the past, I would shave it around the 1st of March. Well, I would go from a full head of hair to skin-headed with out the aid of tanning products. The ungodly white cap that no sun produces was just gross to her.

So now she has backed off her protests to shaving my head IF I will at least visit the tanning bed and try to get some skin color up stairs.

I think that is the option I am going to go for. Besides when I wear my way-cool shades, and a doo-rag, I look really tough.
I’ve still got around 4 1/2 years until I qualify on here, but I say if your wife is down, go for it – just keep her happy so that when you do post things on here that upset her she doesn’t kick your ass quite so hard…

BTW, on that note my fiancee would have the queen of all sh*t fits if I were to shave my head now – she likes it longer, and it’s only about 2 1/2 months until the wedding. I’ve got a few grays, but really only noticable up close and to my barber.

I think her caveat was that I could go bald IF I had a physique like that of Rusty Jeffers.

I think at least in my case everyone missed the part about where I tend to be attracted to guys a bit older than I. Last one was 17 years older than I, the one before was 12 years older, I can’t stand house training. If the guy didn’t have hair he would look like my father or grandfather. So if you are wondering why little miss 21-30 YO although obviously attracted to you but not making the final leap this may well be the reason. She doesn’t need to hear from all her friends how her more experienced man looks like her granddad and they will say such things.
Not to bash, but, since you date men much older then you, in 10 years or so, they’ll look like your dad (present time) anyways, right? To each their own, though. In my family, no one is balding and both my grandfathers have very little grey hair. One of my grandfathers is 78 years old and he’s yet to have grey hair. Even though I should be thankful for this (in a way), I liked the shave head. In a way, it shows a person looks “simple”. As a car/truck enthusiast point of view, vehicles always look better “shaved”

You clearly are an insult to everyone who wants to stay under 190lbs. How dare you build size and strength and stand out because of it! I personally think you need to lose 50lbs and begin running for long distances. We’ll make a wannabe Bruce Lee physique out of you yet!!

Lookin good Don. Bald bi-racial solidarity!

I started balding at 23 yo and lost most of what I would lose by the age of 27. Then it was a slow loss after that.
I hate it. I have never liked it.
I shaved it about 10 years ago. I loved it, the wife hated it. She said I looked mean. And she was a bitch about it for the whole three months that I kept it shaved. Then about four years ago, I tried it again, same freaking reaction. Kept it shaved for about two months. I thought it looked good, and I got several positive commits. But again, the wife was very anal about it.
My beard is almost white, except for the chin area, it is black and white. I don’t care for it. So I keep a goatee,(salt and pepper). My wife has always preferred me in a full beard, she reluctantly accepts the goatee.

No offense intended, but have you ever considered that your wife may not want you to get any extra attention? If you were getting more compliments with a shaved head, and she is the ONLY one claiming it looks bad, it becomes one of those things that make you go, hmmmmmmm.

That’s funny that you should mention that possibility. I have often considered it a major possibility.
Most women don’t care for hairy faces, yet my wife wants me to keep mine. Admittedly, when we first started dating I had such a baby face. That was long ago. She says that she likes the rugged look. I don’t know.

Prof X, I’ve gone both routes and prefer the Mach 3. The Headblade does a decent job front to back, but in terms of some of the “clean up” work (around the ears ands such), not so great. I found I cut myself more with the Headblade despite following the directions as closely as I could. So, I’m pretty much a Mach 3 believer and my Headblade sits unused.

That’s what I thought. There is no reason to switch out something that works. I can shave my head in the shower with a Mach 3 in less time than it would have taken to brush it when I had hair. I rarely nick myself at all. I tried that Schick Quattro and that shit is useless. Four blades just clog up faster. I haven’t found one that matches the Mach 3 yet.
