Baby Got Back.

Fantastic news regarding your dad! Congrats on the PR, it flew off the floor, you seem to have the ability to have your lower back stay tight yet your upper back and shoulders stay loose which is something I cannot for the life of me do.[/quote]

Thanks gotta love the dads!

Dude I felt like I was muscling it up like you used to! Haha. I was so outa whack, my hands were even backwards of how I normally grip, now I have to figure out which one I like better
For some reason I had a hard time letting my arms ā€œhangā€, and when pulling up, i was like ā€œshoulders shoulders, pulllll emmm baaaack.ā€ I also forgot to look up on a couple reps :0
I used to start the lift with my toes up a little to make sure i go back on heels, dang there is just so many ques that work, its exhausting!

Great PR UP and even better news about your dad. Praying the worst is behind him and with any kind of luck the study will develop into something to help others.

We just posted in each other log haha ```

Yea, they only could pick so many people for this test group, we feel so fortunate. He has an amazing doctor too, she is a gem, they call her and her group,ā€œTHE DREAM TEAMā€.

great news about your dad and your lifting is always moving UP…

Damutt its baby steps, but you are right it is moving up.

TRAINING TODAY

Let me just say I think I screwed up my rest. I should have taken another day before upper, and today
shouldnt have happened either. Stress, not enough food, not enough sleep, not enough recovery = SUCK!
But its too late now. I just need to get over wanting to train certain days in gym and listen to my body
if it works out great if not REST.

Everything was supposed to be heavier except the press, and i had 3 sets of FS@95~~~ oh well, could have been worse.

Up, the standing front presses look good but you will most likely notice an immediate increase in the amount you can lift if you widen your stance to at least shoulder width or just inside that. Your stability will increase and you will create a better platform to press from. Since strength and conditioning are most likely your goal then you may find it beneficial to be able to lift more by only tweaking your form. You could even throw in a little knee bend and explosion from that position for push presses and you will see much bigger numbers. Always looking to be stronger.

Hey GV I used to do the push press, i liked them but thought it was harder to tell strength gain as i would differ in leg use. Ill try the shoulder stance, i used to do that, but had a harder time staying tight. Ive got the ā€œtightā€ thing down, so your probably right, time to change it UP!
As always thanks for the input!

ABZZZZZZZZZ

10 rollouts knees
20 heels up w/ weight 10#
10 v-ups (top half)
10 bent hanging knee raise
x3

Id like to say i could have done more and longer blah, blah blah, but NOT!! Abs felt like they were being
shredded doing the rollouts, I did real good with the return, def felt it in tummy not as much lower back.
Still cant do a nice L hang, its more of a ā€œdidyaseethat ?ā€, a split second. Ill get it back.

Just watched the pressing video from the other day.

Excellent work- the tricep work is paying off. Your arms are very steady now when you press where they used to wobble quite a bit which hurt your numbers. I’m sure the only reason you missed the last dip rep was all of the pressing you did before had your triceps worn out. Nice job, it is great to see such noticeable progress both in the mirror and in your lifting form as a result of working hard.

Yes, I actually thought of you after my dips the other day and wanted to shout out
ā€œHey DBasler they didnt feel as brutal today!ā€ haha. I do like doing the dips after my pressing, can really feel the tris working. Thanks for noticing!!

Not going to train again today, I really need some extra rest. Slept 10+ hrs last night and could have gone longer. I think the teens keep me up more than my ol’ bod can take to recover. Had been way too long for a good Dl sesh too.

Im getting stronger no doubt, just dont have it increase in leaps and bounds. I have to remind myself
how old I am and keep things in perspective.

GV broguht up the strength and conditioning. As far as conditioning, I havent been so good at stating to get more serious about that.Although I do get a kick out of getting stronger I cant help but be driven by the mirror  I am going to have to seriously take my leg training to more of a BB Style if I want to see if they can actually GROW. I just dont want to give up certain things. Not looking for ā€œhugeā€, but this is taking forever doing it this way. Not that Im not enjoying it, just sometimes (most of the time) Im soooo envious of ladies that have more muscles in their legs than me, and they dont even train legs, maybe just a run here and there. Its embarrassing, and i tend to get down on myself for it. Dont think Im not happy with my progress I am, i just think I may need to put down the hammer and get out the SLEDGE.

<Just thinking out loud.

Remember everybody has different parameters for strength, definition, and size, not to mention aerobic and anaerobic capacity. Just because you perceive other ladies legs as more muscular doesn’t mean they are. Look up dysmorphia in the psychological aspect.

So many of us are driven by the sense that our bodies aren’t good enough or as good as others we see. Do others have your hips or ā€˜back’? No. And, you put up some good numbers, so what I’m saying is train smart and hard and be your own person just because you want it. Desire will get you just about everything. Now I feel like a mush. I’m off the lectern.
