Baby Got Back.

Had to come check out the bench. What happens if you slow your descent a bit, like a wind up storing tension? (Sorry, G1). Love the despair after the fail followed by the success! Always a pleasure to see how awesome you’re doing.

Thanks OG

KP Umm, yea that could help, seems to be more controlled a few pounds lighter, I had some issues with the bar too far forward (towards feet) that threw me off too. I must need to handle the heavier weight more. Although the lift off felt fine, its just damn heavy haha
I will keep working on it, my next 107 will look like my 90 …I hope!

hey UP, agree with Snap, maybe lower a bit slower and store the energy.

Do you have bands, reverse band bench setup to overload a bit more to “feel” the weight in your hands.

I would also see if you can keep your back a little tighter.

The despair after the fail was so heartfelt, :frowning:

Snap BTW no worries on G1…he has a little dart fish for me to watch;)

Lil yes, you and snap are right, I will keep the decent speed in mind, thanks.
Gotcha on back tight, thanks
The despair as you two put it, I just love this stuff, I cant help it!

One thing about two good training days back to back I dont get to dwell in the muscle soreness, and believe me, I am sore! Glute ham tie in ouie. I also hit core last night.

Oh, also yes I have bands. That sounds like a plan.
I like the idea of “feeling” the weight.
I will be back to more reps again though, but will check that out.I obviously want to be repping the 107 not just A rep.

TRAINING FOR THURSDAY

warm up making sure not to slack on warm ups, not worth the risk.

Today was an “explosive” day, lol. I swear it felt like i was a little rocket, but to view its a fizzle.
Ill go with how it felt over how it looks. little improvements better than nothing.

FRONT SQUAT pause and try to be explosive.
45/5
65/5
75/5
803x5 vid of second set.

Pause to box
65/3
75/3
85/3

RACK PULL below knee
115/5
125/5
135/5
145/5
155/5 —>thought this was 175 it was here that the pull felt like i could flipback it was so easy. AGAIN screwed weight/had 35 plates on grrrr. could have blasted threw heavier if i didnt spend my back with so many sets.–>pissed
165/5
175/5

GM slow controlled
75 / 3x8

BSS
25s —> 5 reps 3 sec pause in hole 3 reps 3 sec pause 1 rep 3 sec pause.
3x 2nd and 3rd set used straps to keep my sanity  freakin hard.

HIP THRUSTS shoulders on bench 3 sec pause at top
110 1x12 1x11 1x12 Holy Hell 110 feels ike 175 with that pause.

Saw stars after last set of thrusrs, Sooo DONE

This is the 80 pause and drive up and the 175 rack

The rack pulls flew up. I can’t see pulling much faster without getting sloppy. Nice work.

Thanks Jack it was the FS and squat to box that were supposed to be explosive.
I love to do rack pulls though, all the clanking gets me fired up.

The FS’s looked solid to me as well, seriously, great work.

I can’t watch the video because it’s been disabled but the numbers are strong. Rack pulls read great too. I like it when I see stars after taxing lifts. I makes me think of 20 or more years ago when I thought it was good to get high to see stars when all I really had to do was bust my ass under some limit lifting weight. Ha!

Ha is right :0
Hmm, I didnt disable it? I just watched it…

Up- Great form on both movements. I would be very happy if I could get my pulls to look like that.

Lol, you lift some big numbers, rip grip and go!

TRAINING FRIDAT /gym

DIPS
1,3,4,4,6,6,4 =28 G says Im getting better and smother, they just dont ever seem to feel “easy” to me.

INCLINE
45/10
55/8
65/6
70/3x5

DB ROW this was a combo of getting my lower back bitch slapped. dang
30/10
35/8
40/6
35/10

DB Seated press

combo
lat pull down 48# 12 reps
push downs 50# 20 reps
x3 times the burn on the push downs was crazy!!

DONE

This is a nice push / pull sesh…nice volume on the dips!

great work in here

Looking exceedingly hot in those shorts.

Rack pulls looked too easy. Put some weight on the bar!

Matty adding in that one dip each time is adding up. I know G1 would like to see me banging out more reps
Im just nervous I would do the hover thing and blow my tris for the rest of training.
As PG pointed out I tend to veer on the “I can do one more” side. Although this 3 weeks I followed the program almost to the T or the G, hehe.
I loved this push/pull day.

Petes stamp of approval ~~~~~grin, thanks big guy!!

Snap ~~ dare I say i have a “tiny” addition of def. to my quads.

I know on the deads, if i didnt screw up on plates I would have pulled more. Honestly ever since my back locked up that time, I have been increasing so slowly. That leg day convinced me that my erectors are “back” in the game. If I continue to pull and it feels as good as it has, my numbers will shoot up.
I just want to be patient, as all the guys on here are FOREVER pointing out, we are getting old.

This week was great! By friday evenings its like M,T,TH,FR all hit me at once. It is a little over whelming,
but the soreness isnt overbearing—> hope that makes sense?
Ill lay off this for a few weeks, but I have a feeling ill “crave” it back.

Wait…I heard pause bench and tempo/holds are coming back, I may change my mind

OG I didnt say I agree with the statement
Its kinda cray-cray if you ask me. Seriously!! Go into any random log on O35 and you will find someone who is killing it and loving every minute of it. Some call it old I call it Perseverance!! AND after that I call it SEXY as HELL !
