Beautiful form! Looks like you’ve got long legs . . . they really don’t help with deads, do they?
Hey Up deads look awesome. You can see the shoulder blade position I was talking about after your first set. Looks perfect! Took a few workouts but your groove is back. Bench is just 1-2 tweaks away and so is squat. I really like the new template we are laying out for you. I think it will be the best one yet! And…last week on this rep scheme…no more hate mail for me…lol. jk.
Edit: For bench i was refering to the grip width we have been playing with as well as you lowered the bar on the sternum just a hair last week. You know i think your bench is golden just like it is. I’m splitting hairs, sorry.

DLs are beauteous Up! Form looks great to me. And yes to your long legs. You look super tall! (so jelly) I love checking out people’s levers in relation to how they lift. Its so interesting re: form setup etc.

Well put it this way, I learned with these legs so I wouldnt know the difference.
Just have to use the form that feels good and works for me!

OK Honestly, glad you cleared that up, I was thinking I was moving in the right direction.WHEW!
Also yea on deads, as soon as i got in “pull position” no more dipping forward. I think I get a bit rattled thinking shoulder blades back, you know me, I lift THE best when i stop thinking too much and just do it!
Grip I hope the vids i sent you and on here you are able to see how the wide is looking, if i need wider, or what. This is ring finger on that smooth skinny ring. Sorry my filming not the best.

Sorry, i should have been more specific upfront. Your technique is so good right now i am just looking at the smallest of tweaks. BTW those little tweaks never really end lol.
Lol on the deads. It’s a natural process though. When first learning a person really focuses on the cues and because they are new they really don’t think about much else. Then when the lift gets comfortable and the cues are automatic and the lifter starts to (over) self analyze things usually get a little twisted. When you go back to the basics things seem to get fixed in a hurry. I am in my 32nd year of competition and still do the same thing occasionally lol. But i really go back to the cues i used in the 80’s and things fall right back into place.
Yes on the bench vids. Exactly what i was looking for. I sent you some stills and hope that it shows you what i am looking for. But basically trying to get to the point where the angle of the elbow between the bicep and forearm is slightly open. BTW since you have seen me lift in person and are familiar with my technique i hope you’ll offer up some imput as i post vids on my log?
…OK I see it, i think, so why not just use the wider grip all the time ?
Then I dont have to change anying

Few reasons. I didn’t want to jump out there right off the bat and have to drop weights down from what you had been using on the regular bench. So you are slowly widening your regular grip a little each workout and then added in the wide grip with lighter weights to give you a chance to adjust to it and get stronger. It also can be tough on the shoulders so adding it in slowly and a little lighter to make sure you can handle the width. So now we are at the point where your wide grip strength has just about caught up to your regular grip and it doesn’t seem to be bothering your shoulders. So now we can be more agressive at widening out your regualr grip. Hope that makes sense.
What do you think about trying that on the squat too. Just maybe a half a foot width and see how it works? I think the best way to tweak lifts in general is slow and methodical versus major adjustments. IMO.
OK so are you saying try a little wider squat stance? Thing is Im not sure Ive really dialed in that sweet spot yet anyway
, was half thinking of chalking my Nikes to see if i find that perfect spot where it is.
That bench stuff makes sense.People her are way ahead of me, but I thought id share our “dialog”.
Up you do indeed look very long
I think both Snap and Kimba look long too-
Im just 5.5
your bench work looked very solid- you have great technique all around
I do love the quality e-coaching going on
nice work

I am thinking just an inch on your warm-ups. You’ll probably know right away if it’s better or not. I was hoping to work off the box but maybe next week? What i would do is take your normal stance (without bar) and take a piece of chalk and draw a line along the inside of each foot. Then start with the bar and widen each foot out about half an inch from the line, do a few reps. If it feels good move out another half inch, see if anything clicks so to speak. Mark where it feels the best and then get going with your normal warm-ups. I made a grid on a matt which works good too. I’ll try to post a pic of it tomorrow.
Good thinking on the bench. I still can’t believe you jumped from 7 to 10 reps and you had 1-2 left in the tank! Which means 3 now that i said it lol.
Made that dead lift look too easy. Are you sandbagging us here? Kidding. Awesome effort, really enjoying the talk between you and G1. Helps me too.
KMC hanks on tech. its a work in progress, trying to figure out what works the best for me and my body.
Dday lol well that DL was feeling pretty good, will be exciting to see if my new max is + the 225 AND when i get there if my back is not rounding as much.
G1 OK heres a little practice run, are my knees shooting too far forward??
I know I have a silly fear of squatting to a “box”, like you said some do to jumping up
“on” a box. Little embarrassing.
WARNING VID IS NEWBISH MAY WANT TO SKIP IT, EXCEPT YOU G haha
Depth is much better. Can you lower the bar just a bit on your shoulders and add maybe 2 inches to the box height to start. I would like to see you be able to get to box without the knees coming forward. Once you can do that then we’ll lower the box a hair each set until you can hit parallel and not let the knees come forward. Hope that makes sense.
BTW i know you thought you hadn’t found your squat sweet spot but remember when we went through the squat and your set up/technique you were squatting for different reasons than you are now. I was thinking about that last night.
