Baby Got Back.

Fixed that for ya

No to all of the above, although there’s a meet about 1:20 away in a few weeks, if we dont get a snow blizzard I may make the drive, would be fun to see what all the excitement is… Speaking of weather, its been so nice.

Anyway, had legs the otehr day, but they were on strike, or my hips were anyway. So not much to report. Hit abs last night.

Today still not myself, but worked through it.

I have been thinking a lot about what I want to do this next few months. My plan for Jan is to at least maintain, backing off a bit. My head goes crayzee sometimes, going back and forth on what i want to achieve. Im going to try to stick to my original goal, and not push so much on the getting bigger and stronger. Its hard though, its a HUGE rush for me, sigh. Going heavier has its draw backs: being ā€œstifferā€ and longer warm ups/cool downs, I know now Im going to sound like the guys, getting older I want to still walk with some pep in my step.

Heres what went down today:

warm up

DIPS 3, 4x2, fail, fail, 1,fail,1,1,fail,1= 15 total, 2 were kinda lame. I wont bore you with all reps, so i threw some together , the last one was my last fail then 1, I was done!

MPs

45/5
55/5
65/3 vid
70/1 vid
65 2x5 vid of second
60/5

After doing Push Press it was a challenge to keep it all still, think I did though? Not bad for a less than stellar on not feeling ā€œstrongā€.

DB rows 3x10 30# ----> with a DB in an ankle weight, need some heavier dbs !

curls hammer, 15s for 3x12 arms together

combo
tri band press downs 3x12
side tri rise body weight 1x20,1x17,1x14 ugh, tris were fried, some serious grunting going on—> no, no vid lol

EDIT forgot front raises 3x10 first set 10s together, 2nd 15s alt arms, 3rd 10s together.

Not an exciting vid (not that any are haha)
I will tighten up eating in Mid.Feb, nothing too strict, the beer here is just too good :stuck_out_tongue:

I just found this thread and log for you Up, and i must say, I enjoy it thoroughly. Good lifting and good looking

I thought the dips were smoother than the last time you posted a vid, OH press looked good as well are you pushing a bit out when you start the lift? Are you going with a false grip? Up videos are ALWAYS exciting!

Lifts looked good to me. I think some of the best lifting you’ll get is when you’re really not feeling it & do it anyway; that whole pushing through adversity thing, it’s good mentally and the iron game is mental as much as it is physical. You obviously pushed through and made it yours, great job.
BTW, Pantera, Metallica and Megadeath all called. Said something about helping with your workouts?

Seems like it wasn’t that long ago you were trying to get one dip now you’re hitting them for reps, excellent. OHP was strong and I love the added db to the db rows, looks like it’s time to get more dumbbells.

I can relate!

It’s a balance for sure. But that’s whats cool about this training stuff. You can do whatever you want. If for a couple weeks you feel like lifting heavy/less reps then you can do it. If for a month you want to do nothing but BW stuff, you can do that too.

My computer keeps erasing what I Type, or jumps back in the paragraph, so frustrating. Have to do this one at a time.

Ellis Good lifting good fun.

Yea they are coming along!

Not sure Im pushing ā€œoutā€, I guess i think "dont take off your face, which may make m e do it some, am i supposed to be? What are your ques? Yup that was my first time with the false grip, I was just reading and watching the muscle up vid, using that grip, uber cool muscle up too!

No joke about it being a mental game!
Soooo what your trying to say is my music sucks, ha I see you are either
A) suffering threw it
B) have it on mute
Ill see what i can come up with, I did hear something on bull dogs log, I think.

I know, right! Grrrrrrrrrrr haha
Yea ive needed the heavier dbs for a long time, also need a rack for them, need to get looking again.

MIM I suppose, i go back and forth because yes I am bigger, heavier, thicker how ever i want to look at it, but i still dont have that muscle def, that like you have. Or remember that Alisa? Dang \ she had the best leggies ever! Totally cut, and i dont think she was dieting for that look? Maybe, just maybe when i do clean up and add some cardio regularly, they will pop a little.

I talked to Marauder Meat about this and when I started to use a false grip he suggested pushing it a ā€œbitā€ out as it helped him. It helped me as well, but its different for other people some feel better pushing it directly overhead. It looked to me like you were going a little too far out, and possibly losing some power. I have hit my nose on the MP before and it aint cool.

I don’t mean to give advice where it isn’t asked for so I apologize if Im butting in

Fawk No, thanks, Ill try it next time on a few reps and see how it feels! I was doing just the push press, which I love, but I want to see what power i have with no leg drive.

I wouldn’t say it SUCKS, per se, but, well…

it sucked. If it’s good for you, though…
I can suffer through it, I’m a glutton for punishment, hence 13 years w/a wife who listens to the same stuff, three daughters, etc. The stuff I mentioned would just piss you off!

I think your MP technique is excellent. One thing you can try if you want to try old school (heh) classic technique is to actually have your feet together/heels touching, makes for a slightly different ā€œfeelā€.

edit: oh, I’m one of those who actually likes your tunes, and FB’s, and LP’s; iow, non-metal -blasphemy I know!

I have had had my best workouts listening to Styx and REO Speedwagon, for realz.

Really nice work on the presses.

I’m currently experimenting with pushing the head through as soon as the bar clears my face (got it off the OL forum), makes locking out a bit easier because the bar’s directly overhead instead of out in front.

And nice dips too. I like that you take the elbow past 90 degrees. Most people don’t.

Ty Not sure it would piss me off, and even if it did, Id probably PR

PG hey Bud, oh yea, forgot about the feet thing, so much to remember!

Matty I hear you, love ā€œflash backā€ music I start day dreaming about what i was doing…

Farmer, I was trying to get my little head threw, Ill have to watch what you are saying about where my heads at and the -----> hehe that could have been bad. and the bar.

So today I suffered threw rolling, seriously im so glad I AM a girl, cause i was almost in tears, mother of God that hurts.

OH Noos that isnt a 45 plate, its my OLY 10s. its only 135.

But it felt good for about 20 seconds till i realized, you thought i was loaded up.

Nioe to see you E!

135 is awesome - I’m barely pushing 185 for 2-3, that is far below my bodyweight.
