Best to Mrs Strick!
Thanks OG. Mrs. Strick came through just fine. She is, of course, sore. Typical her, though, I have to make her not over-exert. She can be so hard-headed.
I have taken the week off. Starting back with it tomorrow.
OP, I think you are spot on with where the issue is. I benched, on Wednesday, and it was anything but comfortable. It aches/burns all of the time now.
Recent workouts…I have gone to more reps and veered away from heavy weights and low reps.

OH! And a big thanks to Steve and Paul for sending me some snow! Next time, though, you can keep the ice…just send the snow. Aside from the drive home from work, on ice, it has been a blast.
Jack, are you in eastern or western WA? My wife is from Orcas Island. She says it doesn’t snow much in the west.
Sunday…Championship Saturday hangover workout. It’s a win-win for me. SEC versus FSU. I am pulling for FSU. 2nd best thing is another SEC national championship, though.

See what I can do Skip. Take it easy driving on ice. Scary as hell when you start to slide and using the brakes only make it worse.
Orcas Islands? That is a prime vacation spot up here, most of the rest of my family goes once a year in the summer but I haven’t been yet. It is supposed to be one the prettiest places in the state. I’m from the South Puget Sound, across the Narrows Bridge from Tacoma, and snow is pretty rare here. It is usually either cold or rainy in the winter, but almost never at the same time.
Jack, that video is, indeed, crazy. I am amazed at how much torquing and movement the structure was able to endure before it finally gave. I would have been afraid that a cable would pop loose, fly over and cut me in two!
Thank OP, Joe…I am just trying to keep it going without getting too far from max.
Steve, that is the truth. I drive a pickup. And no, it isn’t 4WD. Fortunately my wife drives a Mountaineer AWD. So I use that. If I only had my pickup as an option, I wouldn’t have gone in. It wouldn’t be worth the risk.
Daughter has choir concert tomorrow evening, so I had to cram two workouts back to back. Right shoulder did not like this! I guess MP twice and CGB once, as well as accessory work, in four days, was too much for it.

Tried some rear delt raises and laterals, but shoulder was too bitchy and I didn’t feel like fighting. Don’t lift again until Sunday. Hopefully it gets a little better over the next three days.

All that in three days would make anyone’s shoulders ache. Your bench and MP are perfectly balanced. My MP is way to low for what I bench.
Steve, I don’t know if that is right or not. Most of what I have seen, online…for what that is worth…is that folks Military around 2/3 of what they Bench. If I recall correctly (and I may not), you MP about 270-275#!? That would be right at 2/3 of your bench. Assuming your bench is around 405-415#. Admittedly, I don’t know exactly what you bench.
My current maxes are 315# and 405#. So I am actually at almost 78% (over 3/4) of my bench max. I think that I am just an anomaly…or am a bench wuss.
I think even MarauderMeat was in the neighborhood of 65-67% on his bench max.
Huh? Whaddya mean it’s been 10 1/2 months? Whatever…
Greetings, old timers. Not sure what possessed me to stick my head in the door. It just kind of hit me, while I was surfing the web.
Yes…I should be ashamed. And I am. But, life has a way of being itself. So, for those of your who might remember me…
I haven’t worked out in a dark age. Of course, right now, my “gym” is in storage. It has been a crazy year. Went from contract work, to a cancelled contract, to a full-time job at the same place. My wife and I had talked about moving closer to family…specifically mine. We started looking and planning back in February. We made the move last month. So…Bulldog, Paul, Steve, Jack, Joe, Harry, … I am now in Iowa. (Bulldog, I made my 1st visit to IN yesterday…for work. We were in Munster.) Quad cities area, to be specific. My brother lives 30 minutes away, on the IL side of the border.
We just decided we were done with tornadoes, 110+ degree weather and being away from family. So, now we get -20 degree weather. But, I get my brother and my kids get their cousins.
The power rack has been disassembled for months. The home gym, whose cables and pulleys I had worn out, went out into the scrap pile. Unfortunately, we are living in temporary housing until we can sell our house in OK and buy here. So, no place to put up the rack and bench.
It is just as well. I am not sure I could bench my body weight right now. And I’d probably be happy with a 225# MP. In time…in time…
Anyway, I hope that you all are doing well. I will try to catch up on the happenings. Bear with me, though, we are still trying to get settled in. A lot of chaos…
