This, i MY defenition of “skinny”:
and as long as a dont look like that,I’ll never consider myself as
skinny.
You do look like that.

Wow, your mother have a 6 pak abs, please post some pics
btw i’m not french, i’m french speaking (quebec version)

Again we say, your abs are not impressive due to your extremely skinny frame, you say you are up to 180 now so obviously its just fat gain since you wont show us anything. Also, my mother does not a six pack but it is a fact that she being a woman in a wheelchair DOES have bigger triceps than you. Stop your bitching, obviously no one is impressed so stop defending yourself. You should have looked around at some threads before you thought it was a good idea to immediately post your “physique”. I’ve said this a million times, its a bodybuilding site, you will get critiqued as a bodybuilder, not a beach boy. If you dont like it go start ratemysixpak.com
…Whatever happened to the recent photo showing you at 170+ lbs???
[quote]Defekt wrote:

not exactly…

Weight: 171 lbs
no more visible 6-pak (fat gain+water retention)
added a bit more size on pecs-shoulder-back but no that much on tri-bi
and still look small IMO

171 lbs
LOL!!! and you are a full grown man?
edit: erm, perhaps you should get a tan, cut weight, and stick to posting ur pictures on myspace
they will love you
Ok, in all fairness, if you want constructive help, you might think about posting somewhere besides the “rate my physique” forum, like beginners, or bodybuilding, or strength sports.
Also, at least you did man up and post more photos. I have a hard time believing you’re 170 there though, because I have a buddy who’s 5’8 and he looked much much bigger than that at 170. Anyway, you get respect for muay thai. And if you’d said you were at a low weight for your competition weight class you may have caught some slack, but I think it might be too late for that now.
The reason you still look small is that your training split is unproductive. Try “total body training” or even “big boy basics” by Chad Waterbury. Or you can get help designing a split routine ala Thibs. But ditch your current scheme. You don’t even have a leg day in there!
And yes, you are skinny in your photos. It’s the sad truth. Of course, you are weathering the storm fairly well, so we’ll see if you actually stick around for the long haul.
I have no reason to lie about my weight… i really weight 171 lbs right now
You have to consider that i’m still a beginer and have been weight
training for less than 2 years at less than 3 hours per weeks 3day /weeks. I started a little late with weigth training(30 years old)
wich mean that a dont have the same hormone level as a college student. I’m taking ZMA and should really consider a testo bosting supplement like tribulus…
The other thing is my stress level (corisol). I own a small restaurant an work between 60-80 hours a week in a very stressful environement + intense training. wich make my testo drop down a lot… at leas i’m taking about 1500-2000mg of vit C a day to lower the cortisol effect.
i’ve made some impressive strenght gain but very little size gain
my most noticable size gain came from 8-12 reps range
The sad thing is I have a lot of knowledge and self-disipline but very modest size gain…
…BECAUSE YOUR PROGRAM SUCKS!!!
How many times, and how many different ways do you need to hear it. What you’ve been doing, in the weight room, for the last however many years, was a complete waste of time!
I’m having a hard time that you’re an adult
you make me LOL! you know that right
stop doing kickbacks
do dips
no really do
they’ll make you hella swole
then again girly girls dont like the swole
so do skoal
duh
Really man your getting a lot of shit because of your side photo you even admitted its horrible-no idea why you posted it- It was partly the angle but you were pretty thin in that photo, you got more shit when you defended it.
Your obviously gaining some muscle, your routine is not the best and I would take some of the ‘good’ advice that has already been offered.
The thing is, guys and gals,
that you seem to fail to put the OP’s frame of reference into perspective.
You don’t know how he started out, don’t know his genetics and particularly seem to forget that he doesn’t fit the description of a skinny guy.
In fact, I yet have to meet a skinny guy with above average arms, pecs, delts and lats. The keyword here is “above average”. He’s by now means finished if his aim is a lean and really muscular body.
For clarification’s sake:
I’m not defending the OP because I identify with his body and thus might feel offended by the BS you’re giving him. In fact, my body is quite the opposite of his: I’m rather big (209 lbs, 15% bf on a 5"6 frame; come to think of it, I could use a decent cut).
I’m just pissed to death by the general BS people with zero to none experience and/or real physical success are giving
out.
Yeah, I know, we’re on T-Nation. You’re not even allowed to post if your weight is sub-200, your arms measure sub-18 and your schlong…never mind. Funny, how that attitude doesn’t reflect in the number of above average user photos.
You might want to get a grip on your egos: he didn’t start this thread by posing as the pinnacle of physical development.
Don’t bash him if you interpret a partial body shot with some decent abs as an insult to your egos.
You could have put the time you’ve spent ranting to good use in the gym or by giving emjay777 some sound advice apart from:
=> “eat”
=> “I am praying that when i get below 10% i won’t blow away from a stiff breeze”
=> “I would rather be 25% bf”
=> “please eat a hamburger”
=> “Im sorry, but that shot makes you look like a toothpick.”
=> “I threw up a little in my mouth from that side ways photo he posted. Dear god man.”
=> “Honey… i dont mean to be a hater but seriously dude you look anorexic”
The last one really made my day: seems like an analogon to an anorectic calling a perfectly healthy looking average guy a fatty.
Is that all your knowledge ammounts to?
After all, you guys act like absolute beginners usually do: clamouring for mass first and foremost: undifferentiated mass that is.
Well, what?
Are you guys rationalizing your pot bellies by telling yourselves it’s better to be a bit chubby and swole than a supposedly ‘skinny’ guy?
“Oh, damn, gotta eat to hit that mighty 200 lbs mark. BEEFCAKE!!!” gulp

LOLZ
I am sub 200
I am doing a cut
I have less and 18 inch arms
I did tell him to do Dips over Kickbacks I’ll admit, it was filled with sarcasm, but still advice
I have my own thread, so I do post
Anything else you want to say, so I can do some more lolzing?
love you
<3
I thought ‘eat’ was pretty good advice.
It may sound strange to you but right now i think that someday i’m over-eating because 4 day out of 7 i have painfull bloating
maybe its just bad food combinaison but people around me don’t understand that i can eat that much in a day…
about the dips, i would love to do some but when i do them weightless idont fell the muscle working that much and when i do weighted dips i got pain in my shoulder articulation
Close grip bench press would probably be a good substitute for dips
Tricep pull down are defenetly my best tri isolation exercise for now
I recently started(5month ago) doing bi and tri direct isolation movement but always do them at the end of my workout. I should pay more attention to my tri-bi and i’m pretty sure they will respond well.
I think i’ll look bigger with a smaller bodyfat % IMO its all about creating the illusion of size. And propably would had look bigger if i took the picture immediatly after
a workout
peace
All right, clever dicks, he knows that he is skinny and he is working on gaining mass (the second pic looked even freakier than it should have mainly because of the angle and vacuum on top of the lack of spinal erectors and pretty much everything else).
Clearly he isn’t afraid of adding some fat and I assume he is going to work on compound movements after reading more on this site. He is not too old so a LOT of progress is possible for this guy with the right mindset and program.
Enough with the jokes and let him work on himself. He is down, let him have his dignity.
OP, EAT! And if you were using 45 pound DBs for your tricep kickbacks with THOSE arms, you were not using any kind of form on them. And don;t forget to Eat. Or after a year of little to no muscular progress, you’ll end up with the rest of the voyeur “hardgainers” jacking off to the physique clinic threads waiting to see a miracle transformation. Case closed.
EDIT: Your 171-lb pics look pretty decent imo comapred to the first few. Keep adding mass and stick to compound movements for the most part but don;t shy away from isolation work.

Whoever defends him need to stop bitching. This is the attitude he should have posted with. He originally posted with a smug jerkoff attitude. If he’d acted like the above quote before I doubt he woulda gotten as much greef.
