Hi Guys,
I was just diagnosed with arthritis in my shoulder at the ripe old age of 21 and I’m wondering what you guys have done to deal with this condition if you’ve experienced it. Any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Fed

I just had an MRI with the same results, but I am 41. Diagnosis was that the humeral head had a posterior shift in the shoulder capsule, wearing out a lot of the cartilage, and creating bone spur growths, frayed labrum. Rotator cuffs intact.
Doc said he only saw that kind of thing with football players and weight lifters, and that there was also a genetic/predisposition component as well. So it was a combination of activity and genetic disposition. Told me to quit lifting heavy.
I was going for my RKC cert this fall, and had to stop training entirely it got too painful performing all the snatches and turkish getups.
All I have done is mobility work, using things like the nautilus pullover machine, using the weight to push the arm through a greater range of motion. Bought the Cressey/Reinhold optimal shoulder performance DVD set, it is great, highly recommended. the eye opening thing I got from it so far is that baseball pitchers also have some adaptive changes in their shoulder structure.
Had a labral tear in 2003 with surgery to fix, and got a Lifefitness Chest expander/strand pull it is awesome for warmups/strengthening your rotator cuffs. I use it now for warmups before upper body days. also do a lot of halos, pumps, and slingshots for warmups too.
Anyone else with this kind of issue would love to hear what you all have done, or if there is anything I can do to reverse the posterior shift in the humeral head.
