Vid I saw looked solid. He dipped and got it.
I couldn’t tell for the life of me. The shitty lighting and his dark colored suit didn’t make it easy for me to decide.

Believe me it wasn’t high, I was on his left side spotting. I could hear his suit cracking in the hole.

They had no problems throwing reds (see Yarymbash, Brian Carroll or even on Henry’s first attempt). They were definitely not shy about calling anything high.

None of this matters though, cause as we know multi ply is ruining “the integrity of the sport.”

how can a 19 yr old pull that much???naturally
1. Have great levers
  2. Train for years of the tutelage of a powerlifting champion father
  3. Inherit genetics of said powerlifting champion father
  4. Strong work ethic
  5. Exposure to a lot of really strong guys and a consistently strong training environment
    Did I miss anything?

  6. selling the integrity of the sport for gear powered lifts.

jk. You nailed it.

What do you mean? Gauging their strength as pertains to other lifts and activities because of levers?

LOL he’s already bested his old man’s best pulls in competition twice over.

I might have butchered the quote. What Rip was trying to say was it is hard for an outsider/non lifter to “estimate” or ‘understand’ the strength possessed by a person that is capable of lifting 800 lbs off the ground.

The best lift of the weekend got turned down. Blaine Summer destroyed a 1025 squat. I don’t know what he got called on but it looked good where I was standing. Ian Bell only weighed 194.

I saw that squat on the live stream. Looked good to me.

I am almost positive it is a velocity suit.

STB pulled 815? Thats fantastic!

NOTE:
Has anyone found a full list of results or know when they come out?
I agree! Even by USAPL standards. The dump of his first squat was something. The recording of the little girl screaming . . .

Regardless what the judges saw it was a hell of a lift! He absolutely destroyed over 1000lb. I am sure he will get that squat official very soon! Tho it was a shame to not get it at the arnold.

Talent and early start

I am assuming this is the video

If it is…how on earth was this not passed?

Maybe the bar slid down his back a little? Idk but it seems like complete bull shit.

Ah, that makes more sense.

Maybe a spotter touched the bar? That’s the only thing I can think of.

Regarding Summers red lighted squat attempt, I am pretty sure he was called on depth, hence the 2 reds from the side judges. Both of his squats looked very close to the proper depth, in my opinion from the video it looked like the first one was there, just barely, and it looked like the second one was not, just barely. The IPF wants it to be clear that the lifter hit depth, although I agree they are not perfectly consistent, and for record attempts they are likely even a bit stricter.

Whatever the case, his strength and power to move that weight were awesome, I hope he gets that record or more in the future.
