Are People Here Not Trying Very Hard?

It’s two in the morning here, my gym opens in 5 hours and i will be in there then.

You guys can expect some vids in about 8 hours from now i’d have thought.

Don’t know what I fancy doing today, I don’t follow a program, I will just do what the hell I feel like and as long as I get stronger at the exercise I don’t care what it is.

Maybe I might even deadlift/squat/and bench all in one session.

We will see.
Good.

We need some more freaks around here.

I hope you get huge or become absurdly strong one day.
I’m a freak bonez. True story. That being said, I’d say the reason most people have responded negatively in this thread is just the douchebaggyness that the OP projects in his first post. Something similar to Austin_Biceps “I can whoop your ass so don’t mess with me or call me a fag” attitude mixed with Celtic’s delusional self, and a bit of professor X arrogance only lacking the knowledge or body of X. Again, douchebaggyness, similar to truthiness only not so cool.

OP: There are people on the biggest loser with 20 inch arms+ guess what, nobody thinks they’re all that awesome either. Congrats on the lifts, I’ll be interested to see some vids and always enjoy watching people prove others wrong, best of luck.
Youre skinny. Go away.
No? As far as me being skinny, I’m comfortable where I’m at 196 @ 5’8" and sub 10% bodyfat.
Dont lie to us now

Kinda reminds me of a close friend of mine. Back when he was 17 years of age, and after less than a year of training, he beat the Canadian Junior (teenage) record on the deadlift with something like 540 at 175lbs (he was 6’2").

Today he is a decent strongman competitor and powerlifter with a 800lbs+ deadlift, a 600lbs bench (with a bench shirt, has done a bit over 500 raw) and a 650-700 squat. He is also 330lbs on the same 6’2".

At 17 he didn’t look like much… with a shirt on he barely even looked athletic. But his father was a member of the 1982 Canadian Olympic lifting team and held the record on the clean & jerk for a while… freaky STRENGTH genetics.

However, strength genetics are not necessarily the same as bodybuilding genetics. At 330 my friend takes a up a lot of space, but you wouldn’t call his physique impressive. He once dieted down to 260 and still didn’t get “that look”… looked like a football lineman (or rugby prop for you UK guys).

Many guys are “designed” to be strength freaks without having the potential to look like bodybuilders. Former World Strongest man Magnus Ver Magnussen is an example that comes to mind… always looked smallish and soft compared to the others, but he was the strongest.

BTW, to the OP. I actually have no doubt that you will succeed in your deadlift short term goal. You are biomechanically well suited for that lift and it should improve very fast.

I can’t say for your squat because I’d have to see your dept.

But the bench press goal might be harder to achieve, especially for one with your levers. Adding 100lbs on a bench press is about the same as adding 200lbs on the deadlift difficulty-wise.

Also, ignore most of the haters. Very few of the people calling you out even have pics up and I have said the same thing you did many times over. Way too many people here love acting like they are serious yet, like you posted, still have 15 inch arms after 10+ years of lifting.

You have to have that muscle size before you can get more definition and most of the guys calling you ugly haven’t even achieved that yet.

Keep it up and surprise all of us in a year.

Sick shit, bro. Congrats!

Youre gonna be nasty one you “get in the game” and turn vet…10 years from now

omg omg omg omg omg

What a pompous thread!

True, but did Magnussen ever actually train for muscle growth? I mean, Pudz trains to look like that as well as strength. I think a lot of these guys just don’t give it enough time in that area of training to “fill out” enough.

I hope everyone talking shit earlier on apologizes. That shit gets old. Most of you fuckers AREN’T trying that damned hard and you know it. Also, most of the women here are more serious than the guys. Why is it every time someone calls people out on this, everyone gets defensive like they all bench over 400lbs for reps?

I doubt the average person on this site even looks like they lift at all yet people tore this guy a new one all because he noticed the exact same thing everyone else does who comes here.

Guess what, the secret is out…most of you half ass this…and many of you just got schooled by a newb.
And you know this how? Why do you so often pretend you know exactly how everyone on this site looks?

I don’t know how EVERYONE looks. I know how the people look who post pics. I also understand bodybuilders and I know that someone who truly stands out to that degree would not hide their progress because they stand out EVERYWHERE.

If you are well developed, why are you hiding it?

You seriously believe most of these people look like they are a long diet away from winning a decent local show in bodybuilding?

For people with no pictures of themselves anywhere to log on and try to destroy this guy because he noticed what EVERYONE ELSE notices is fucking stupid. Where are YOUR pics?

Exactly, that’s what I said. No material for BBer. Shoulder width!! OP need to improve this before everything else…

Haha, thanks, it’s no big deal. That said it DOES slightly concern me of the ‘small’ look I have despite taping largish measurements, but I guess I can do nothing about that except to try and get as strong as possible, eat as much as possible, and ultimately weigh as much as is possible without damaging my health, becoming over-fat.

I’m sure if I can eat big/lift big/ for the next 2/3/4 years then by the time I come to slowly strip off some fat I should hopefully be somewhere really good. IMHO, to worry about leaning out would be to be taking steps backwards right now, especially since all my lifts are jumping upwards crazily, no need to jeopardize that.
The truth is, you seem to have a good mindset. The people who have the potential to stand out almost have to see themselves as different than the majority. You seem like a tall guy though and it will take way more size to fill out a larger frame than it does someone much shorter.

You LOOK like a newb…but that is only for now. Of most here, you will likely put many to shame once you really get moving and make more progress over the next few years.

Maybe it’s the pic you posted in the op, but you look a little different in a video. Seriously, that pic is wack.

Here is the kicker though. You actually came through with a vid. If you knew how many people jumped on here and posted similar to your op and then never showed, you would understand the hostility.

I started a thread about posters you talk, talk, talk, but show no evidence of even working out. You have just successfully leaped 95% of the crowd on this site including me [my phone doesn’t have a vid rec :frowning: ].

My log is up for all to see videos and pretty pictures included (more video then pictures since I don’t have a camera anymore).

x2. Funny how Mytch is gettin’ upset but hes one of the people with no pics up. Good job with the pic of the hallway/doors, if you built it.

I hope he apologizes also. Just because I don’t have 18 inch arms the first 2 months of training means i’m not trying hard enough is absurd.

Yes I have been making progress. I started lifting February and didn’t really know what I was doing till June. I went from 12" arms to 15 1/4" my lifts went up a bit also. ← june till now.

Not saying i’m a beast or anything worth gloating over. aka not having pictures up. not everyone has the luxury at STARTING with 17’ guns, and strong lifts.
