Are People Here Not Trying Very Hard?

According to Jim Cordova, even the best competitors can count on losing 25% of their contest weight loss from sources that aren’t fat (muscle?! Water? differs on the person’s physiology and their approach to dropping weight).

The point is that no one ends up with as much muscle as they ‘THINK’ they have when they diet down.

I’ve read this same general statement over and over again over on this site for the last 2 years and actually believed it. That is, until I tried losing losing the fat without losing muscle recently myself. It seems to me the only people that make it sound as if they can easily and magically peel off all the fat they’ve gained, are the ones that have never made it to under 10% bodyfat themselves.

Kudos, on your progress. I’m not knocking that. It’s the notion that you can snap your fingers and retain your all of your LBM while you diet down (SO MUCH easier) that I have an issue with. You were arguing with a guy that competed over who has more LBM. It doesn’t make sense to compare until you actually get that lean.

i think Akhuma is going to learn about this first hand when he competes. I think he started at around 260 and i would bet good money that he will end up around 170ish at single digit competition weight.

that’s a perfect example of what the reality of cutting weight to get really lean is. plus, to get to that 170ish is going to be hell.
No way 170!!

you have gone way WAY too low…

That chi-town kid here is competing at a higher weight than that — and he looks good, but he clearly isn’t as big a guy as Akuma would be.

IMHO Akuma has well over 200 pounds lbm
there’s your problem… “your opinion” you don’t know enough yet to realize that you don’t know shit.

i’ve been competing in bodybuilding and powerlifting for more years than you have lived.

chi-town has been COMPETING at a higher weight. the important word in that sentence is competing. chi-town is lean and stays lean. Akhuma has a lot of weight to lose to get down to where chi-town is. mark my words, when Akhuma gets down to single digits he will be 170ish in single digits. this is no way a dig at Akhuma. i think he will look great when he gets there but that’s what it’s going to take to get to competition lean. if you haven’t done it, your opinion is just like assholes, everyone has one.

To say that a non-fat person like Akuma with multi-year lifting experience would have to lose close to 100lbs IS ridiculous.

I have a half-cast mate who is 160lbs and ripped to the bone, but he looks like nothing (with clothes on). To say that someone with this much lifting experience would only have a physique similar to my mate who does no physical activity other than play basketball now and again is frankly ridiculous.

For one thing I can tell you that my actualy bones and organs probably weigh more than 170lbs…

In fact… the whole thought of being 170lbs is ridiculous. I weighed 170lbs when I was 14 or 15 and was very skinny…
again… you are talking out of your ass. if i ran this site, newbs wouldn’t even have the opportunity to voice their opinions because they don’t even know enough to have one. you have to be around awhile to actually know what the fuck you are talking about. someone like you giving advice just fucks everything up.

it’s not as easy as just cutting the fat and bam… there you have all your muscle. i’m assuming that akhuma will be doing all of this natural and when done natural there will be a significant amount of lean mass lost during the cutting as well as a good amount of water at the end. all of these things will add up to stepping on stage around 170lbs. but to someone that hasn’t a fucking clue how anything works other than eating a whole chocolate cake wouldn’t know that.

again, i’ve done it many times. When i first started lifting I would listen to the ones that who have done it and didn’t say a word. i listened and learned.

He took my advice and did some supination during a biceps pose… more peak comes naturally as it is… add his eating on top of that and there you go

Stop talking about things you dont know about. Youre a beginner. You dont even follow bodybuilding. You have no idea what youre saying. Your post is a wild guess/well wishing

op has been in a mental institution for the last 15 years…he is insane…tlike michael myers

op is michael myers

OR LEATHERFACE

First and foremost congrats on your progress. With that being said I really think it’s time for you stop talking. I have been the strength and conditioning coach at a local high school for 6 years now, and when I get kids that like to talk a lot about what they know, I always remind them they were given one mouth and two ears, so stop talking and listen! I am 31 yrs old and know for a fact that I still don’t know everything there is to know about training. You know what I do?? I listen to guys like MM that have been in the game for a looong time. And the fact that you are this strong this early doesn’t mean shit, I have seen tons of kids that can lift more, jump higher and run faster than me, but guess what? They still don’t know shit.

Wow is this kid really arguing with MM? He’s probably the strongest guy on the site, and he’s competed in bodybuilding. How are you gonna question what he’s saying to you?

Don’t mean for all this nuthugging but your way outta line dude.

So we can finally see the 8 plates a side hack squat? To the same depth as MM on his own video?
Or might it FINALLY be the 450 squat? MAYBE even the 350 bench?

WE ARE ALL WITNESSES!

Props on uploading the video but you definitely need alot more depth to be comparing that to other peoples squats. Your new to this though, good luck with your goals

Okay, the first attempt at uploading failed — file size was 109mb

SO I just trimmed it down to just the reps. Should upload not… it’s halved the size of it.
Good job in all with everything, but those are top half rep squats. Go an inch below parallel from now on. Don’t worry about the numbers right now.

You’re moving a lot of weight but the form isn’t good enough and you will get slack for that. Comparing the bar paths of the two videos they don’t look to different, you’re obviously taller so you’ve got further to go.

I’m much weaker and smaller than you so take that for what it’s worth.
