Are People Here Not Trying Very Hard?

How the hell do you do that with your eyebrows!?

What a shit-fest. I didn’t read all of the posts, but I did read most of the first four pages and watched the vids. I hope there were many apologies.

I’m happy for the OP. He’s already bigger and stronger than I am, and I’ve been busting ass for nearly 2.5 years. Can’t wait to see where you end up in a couple years if you keep working hard.

I will say, though, that some of us aren’t being lazy or half-assing it in the gym. We just have a harder time of it than others. The point is to make the best of the hand you’re dealt. Mine isn’t so great, sucks to be me.

But you got dealt a better hand than most. Aim for the top. Don’t bother with comparing yourself to the rest of us. Decide which ‘specialty’ you’re going to work at and aim to beat the guys at the top.

Lol, yes my arms ARE 18" but look nowhere near it… anyway i’ve put myself out there now, so i’ve got to prove the people who keep saying my lifts are bullshit wrong. I’m at home now… so the only one I can justify right now is dumbell curling the 64lb dumbells for 8-10 reps…

I actually hit 15 reps a minute ago, but kept getting the camera angle wrong, so the one i filmed I only ended up with 6 or something. –

with hammer curls I can do over 30 reps each arm with the 30kg – 64 pound dumbells.

I will prove as many of the other lifts as possible wrong tomorrow… I will be in the gym in the morning.

But even though my arms look smaller than they are… they still do measure 18" and I CAN nearly curl the 100pound dumbells for one rep.
Wow, how about a zero on intelligence… for the rep lie and/or the cam set up. Why not check your set up one rep at a time and then post this mighty (fake) vid?

I hope everyone talking shit earlier on apologizes. That shit gets old. Most of you fuckers AREN’T trying that damned hard and you know it. Also, most of the women here are more serious than the guys. Why is it every time someone calls people out on this, everyone gets defensive like they all bench over 400lbs for reps?

I doubt the average person on this site even looks like they lift at all yet people tore this guy a new one all because he noticed the exact same thing everyone else does who comes here.

Guess what, the secret is out…most of you half ass this…and many of you just got schooled by a newb.
And you know this how? Why do you so often pretend you know exactly how everyone on this site looks?
I don’t know how EVERYONE looks. I know how the people look who post pics. I also understand bodybuilders and I know that someone who truly stands out to that degree would not hide their progress because they stand out EVERYWHERE.

If you are well developed, why are you hiding it?

You seriously believe most of these people look like they are a long diet away from winning a decent local show in bodybuilding?

For people with no pictures of themselves anywhere to log on and try to destroy this guy because he noticed what EVERYONE ELSE notices is fucking stupid. Where are YOUR pics?
I love the Prof X rant… I’ll admit to not having pics up because I don’t really care to. I’ve no intention of being any type of competitive bodybuilder, but I still value the knowledge supplied on this site as it applies to my profession(SWAT). I choose to put professional goals ahead of just physique goals, and therefore, don’t post pics.
Not to touch off a firestorm, because I know Prof X is an absolute beast and has the pics to prove it, but Prof, do you feel you’re a “long diet” away from winning a local show? Just curious as most pics you post that I’ve seen are shirted, so it’s hard to make an accurate comparison.

Why not just start a log? you can post vids and pics from time to time. I for one would be interested to see how you progress.

Agreed. You’re so proud about your 18 inch arms that are covered in bacon. Listen, if you were to drop down to a level of leanness which allowed you to display even a degree of muscularity, your arms would most likely be around 14-15 inches from the looks of it.
That was my sentiment exactly.

I see fat bitches at BK with 18" arms, big fucking deal.
Just looked at your profile and credit to you that you have a decent base… and look good. – altho you are 3 years older than me.

As for me it’s just as well then that withthin the next year I guarantee that I will have over 20" and maybe 21" arms…

I’m going to get so big and strong, that by the time the day comes that I need to cut, I will be in NO DOUBT, that I will have an amazing physique under there for the time the fat needs to come off.

You can do things your way, and try and stay lean and slowly work up, and not be able to take advantage of the benefits of increased weight ---- growth of structure, bone, e.t.c to accomodate for the extra weight, increased strength from better leverages and shorter ROM e.t.c not to mention enjoyment of eating food…

and I will do things my way.

And maybe in another 3 years we can check on how we are both doing?

I can guarantee to you all in this thread that I will have arms over 20" within the next year
I WILL bench press over 400lbs within the next year
I WILL deadlift over 650lbs within the next year
I WILL Squat over 600lbs within the next year

so that will be by 31/10/2011 and you are all welcome to hold me to those things…

Best of luck man… we will see which approach is best in a few years.
You are aware of course that you may just be starting off from a better strength level than most people, but then may possibly hit your limit quickly right? Might want to reel in that ego a bit. Sure some people were rubbed the wrong way by your thread, simply because you did come across as an arrogant jerk. If you have indeed only been training as long as you claim, then there may not have been much actual ‘progress’, merely a display of your natural strength levels. The videos seem to support your claimed lifting stats, but unless you can actually produce physical evidence of progress, no one in a bodybuilding forum will be very impressed. Keep the ego in check a bit. Chi-Town has certainly walked the walk, and you might want to try more than a couple of steps yourself before you start making such bold statements.

S
Could be… but could also be that my limit is much further off and higher than most people…?? Who says there has to be a limit though anyway? Why even mention it, i’ve only just started training… it’s obviously not going to be anytime soon.

Also, you look great… and clearly have followed a very different route to get to where you are than I will be, which might be why you don’t like what i’ve written. But IMHO the guys who seem to bulk up huge ala X, and get freaky strong, are the ones who end up with an ultimately “denser” look, - than the guys who follow the more traditional bb route like you do, when they do diet down, because of the factors related to attaining that higher weight which i’ve already mentioned.

Also i’m not going to start any bb-style training until i’ve got my strength levels to a point where I can be hitting really good big weights in the 8-12 rep ranges. No point pumping up with light weight.

but… at the same time as per the poster above, whilst he looks good shirtless, I have quite a lot of skinny friends who look like that, doesn’t mean they are that good at lifting or that big, or even that they look like anything other than skinny people in clothes… having “teh ripped abz” is really not that hard. I could probably eat nothing for the next two months then go on the ratemyphysique section on here and get more compliments than I would now, but i’d have actually taken about 1million steps backwards.

I bet i’ve got more lbm already than the guy who attacked me for my burger king arms already does. Just got the tape measure out and if I really flex hard tapes already hitting nearly 18 and a quarter… maybe I can get 20’s in a few months? Scales already up to 229lbs this morning, my actual fat level also feels like it’s DECREASING, even though it hasn’t been obvious in photos… maybe it’s because i’ve increased my muscle mass in the last two months?

Thanks anyway. Time for me to go to the gym now, maybe get some more vids, and set some more pr’s this morning.
The vids seem legit (well one), but the continual cocking off at Stu and others by the OP still is over the top (trollish perhaps?). I tend to agree with the post earlier that members of this site routinely shred every little detail beyond necessity (again- X you’re the man, but you’re guilty here) and suddenly are taking all of this at face value. The deadlift vid seems legit, the curl vid I could care less about… but no shot of the guy’s face while curling after multiple setups to get it right. OP has admitted the leg press vid is horrible, and it is. I found myself questioning how much bend was in those knees or if it was even a trick with the zoom, let alone not being able to see any plates. All these things are typically fed upon freely by some of the more complimentary posters in this thread.

To me too much doesn’t add up, burned up the arms so couldn’t hit the right number or reps, hit well below my brag weight on the DL because the camera lacked memory… still haven’t fixed that even though he lives next door to the gym (and why not delete the lesser DL and try to pull the 520 plus on cam?). I can’t believe the free pass this guy is getting more than anything.

lol thanks… just got to prove this srtl guy wrong now. 1 sec.
you should not feel entitled to prove anything for anybody here. train and try to improve for yourself not because some guy did not belief you in here. post vids and pics for monitoring progress or if you want someone experienced in here( not me ) to check your form, but not for approval from people behind a screen. go read your essays, thats whats importent right know.

ps. you are one lucky bastard with those lifts with so little training. you will get far if you train hard and eat well for long period of time.

best of luck to you man

I find it somewhat amusing that you can shoot your mouth off calling the whole world out for either not trying hard enough or aiming to low in their goal setting(because we all have to be like you?). You catch some heat, predictably, and get a bit sensitive about it.
Once you saw the response, and you’ve admittedly been reading the site for 2 mos., why not make sure the vids are good ones? I could care less if you juice or not… follow your path and hit your goals. None of that involves being so self-absorbed as to call out the forums for not sharing your thought process. If you look back, most posters take issue with your attitude. Seeing a trend? We could all be wrong, but it would be wise to at least consider that you’re a little over the line in a few posts. You readily admit that Stu has more knowledge and that you can learn from him, but then start talking out the other side of your mouth and call him jealous of you. That’s just not well thought out.
Don’t post a thing for my benefit, because I don’t think that will get either of us anywhere. You’re right, you can post whatever til your blue in the face and you’ll get nothing more than 30000+ posts, which I hear leads to bitterness. I assume your goals do not involve posting in large numbers on this or any other site while attempting to right the world’s wrongs.

The only thing funny here is how worked up everyone gets. Whether he is telling the truth, lying or whatever you want to believe, who cares, no need to let it affect you like that.

Once you learn to focus on yourself and not care about what everyone else is doing, and other peoples opinions, you will have the starting point at becoming very successful in all walks of life.
