A difference of opinion on the internet baffles you? Why? Ill laugh just like everyone else if he winds up being a fat guy who never deadlifts 600lbs. I just dont really care if someone is arrogant. He’s a random douche on the internet, whatever. He can act like Kanye West for all I care.
Exactly…and that is specifically why I won’t join in. It isn’t anyone’s damn business how “arrogant” someone else is unless it directly affects you or is holding that person back.

Why do so many people feel it is their job to try to put people in their place?

Some people may be more humble than others, but guess what, if you can back up the shit you are talking, then no one should be saying anything against it.

I don’t get what drives people to act like some sort of morality police even after they get shown that the guy seen as “arrogant” can back up what he’s saying.
I don’t really think i’ve been that arrogant. I don’t even consider myself to be strong… even though others would. I certainly am nowhere near the level of many people here. Although I will be one day.

I’m just trying to say that many here are setting the bar very low indeed. I mean, I just saw a thread where someone thought 1kilo was a significant weight-gain. After everything i’ve eaten today I will probably take a 1kilo shit later… But this seems to get flipped back on me when I say this…

I never disagreed with your original statement. In fact, it surprised me that the FEW here who do stand out would take such offense when they know for a fucking fact that most of the other people don’t seem to be pushing that hard.

You are right, most of the people here seem afraid to even show their progress and the things that get written on this site would lead anyone to understand that most are not shocking people in a tank top.

However, you are also a newb so don’t take what me or Bonez is writing as some sign that you are now seen as “hardcore”. You aren’t, at least not yet.

Horrible ROM on those hack squats. if your 400 lbs front squat and 450 lbs squat look anything like that, then you really cant claim those lifts. everyone can quarter squat a ton of weight and claim they squat alot and that is pathetic.

Ok. Looking forward to the front squat video.

I don’t feel threatened by you mate - i’m not a bodybuilder - and neither are you. You’re a young, inexperienced wanker. You’re big, but then you’re overweight (not obese, but pretty well covered and not healthy looking) and clearly not very athletic either.

You’re also very, very, very arrogant and frankly you’ve achieved nothing so far that literally thousands of other people haven’t done. I’m also baffled by X and Bones blowing smoke up your arse but there you go - i’m sure i’ll continue to be baffled by many things.

You have seen the OP’s arm and a couple videos of him wearing baggy sweats while working out…just what are you basing your opinion that he looks “unatheltic and overweight” on? LOL…you are 175 pounds man…not everybody goes to the gym with the goal of looking small and weak…

Personally I like OP…who gives a fuck if he is arrogant and calls people out for their lack of progress? It is true…this site barely even resembles a weightlifting site anymore…go to the front page of this site and look at the most active topics…I guarantee that 75% of them are going to be from the Get A Life forum, or Politics, or SAMA, or some other NON-TRAINING portion of this site.

OP made claims and backed them up, and frankly made everyone that was doubting him look like fools. I’m not saying the skepticism was unwarranted since we see so many people with hero internet statz come here so often, but he should have shut up all the nay-sayers and anyone that chimed in after the videos and still attacked the guy absolutely baffles me.

To the OP: you have some awesome potential for strength sports man…come to the dark side…do you really want to wear a banana hammock? shave your body hair? go tanning? or gasp diet down??? NO! Powerlifting and Strongman is where its at man. I dont think you quite realize the potential you have in that sport.

At any rate, keep up the hard work.

If you ever decide to renege on not wanting to lift with anyone you meet on here, shoot me a PM. I’m in the Plymouth/Bristol area of southern england quite often for work and I like meeting peopel from the site for some training…won’t rape you

I don’t see any group this large running after the douches who call me out weekly who have ZERO pics in their profile…but somehow this one guy catches the attention of the whole website?

WTF??

Isn’t that really fucking backwards?
Holy shit I’ve agreed with X twice in as many days now…surely a sign of impending armageddon…

I’ve never understood why peopel feel its necessary to legislate the way other people act, if that act is not causing harm or impeding the goals of others…I don’t know if its tied to a sense of a community of mediocrity, or just spitefulness that the person can be so much more successful than them AND acknolwedge it, or what? But its absolutely ridiculous…

In all fairness man, how many times can you read/type/say: “eat enough to gain weight, get stronger in a moderate rep range, sleep”?

As someone who spends a lot of time bullshitting in GAL, I see results from keeping it pretty simple, it’s not really my place to be handing out advice. I’m not one of those delusional people around here that have crowned themselves a Vet. You earn that shit, and right now I’m still working on that.

I get what you are trying to say, it’s just if all we ever talked about was training you could pretty much narrow this forum down to 2 dozen threads that we could all just read and re-read over and over, lol.

But what an insightful 24 threads that would be! haha

No THEY DONT look anything like that… you will be relieved to know… and actually that Hack Squat WAS to parralel though.

I will show you a 400lb front squat with perfect depth.

I look forward to proving someone wrong again.
Just so we’re all on the same page here, you realize that “parallel” means that the crease of the hip and top of the knee are parallel to the floor (platform if we’re talking about leg press or machine hack squat). Right? Most people think that a 90 degree angle at the knee=parallel, which is way off and as a result claim a “parallel” depth squat, even though they are actually quite a bit higher than that.

Obviously we couldn’t see the first couple reps of your hack squat, but the ones that we could see looked well above “parallel”. Of course, it could just be a bad camera angle.

These would be “parallel” hack squat reps.

I’d suggest trying to get someone else to film your reps from a side angle and seeing for yourself if you are indeed hitting parallel.

This is pretty much the depth that you should be shooting for on squats:

Gotta give your credit for your strength as a beginner. If you keep working on your form and lifting and eating right you could probably have a future in powerlifting.

Dude, you look good. Maybe not LEAN… but definitely not overly fat. It’s clear you carry a great amount of muscle under that (a fat chest won’t look like that EVER…)!

It has gotten out of hand but I see it in many places. If you are doing well be it at your weightlifting, on the job or financially, even mentioning that to people who are doing much worse is a recipe for disaster. Hell, even mentioning it to people who are doing ok themselves but who don’t have your best interests in mind is a mistake.

I have friends I can call from college, tell them how I am doing and what my plans are, and they will be happy for me. I have had “associates” who I can do the same thing to and I get silence or attitude from it.

The bottom line is, if this guy’s attitude is helping him reach his goals, then the true jackasses are the ones trying to get him to change.

That’s the truth.

Nice lifts man and you certainly dont look fat just look like your bulking. However understand those lifts after 2months aren’t the norm, but power to you.
