Appropriate Carb Choices

Hi Coach,
I am jumping into the Best Damn Diet for Natural Lifters and am wondering about carb sources. Just a quick question. In short are refined carbs sources such as tortillas as beneficial and effective as whole carb sources like oats and potatoes at building muscle?

In the short-term, yeah. Well within reason (pastries and other highly processed sweets, no)

But in the medium and long term no as they can more easily lead to insulin resistance which will make building muscle and losing fat harder

Would this not have to do with the amount of carbs but, more importantly your body fat levels and overall weight?

If you are eating 100g of carbs a day I highly doubt the sources matter and if you are at an appropriate body fat why would it matter? Would your body not handle them?

To the op I eat most of my carbs from white rice, cream of rice, some potatoes and corn tortillas. Never had any issues and find them much easier to digest when I get to around 350g or more daily.
