I will say that you cannot select text from the pages. This it seems is because the pages are image files not textℑ files.
Though if you are a bit tech savy once you’ve downloaded offline versions of the images you can get image-to-pdf software as well as text recognition software.
thanks wushu for that very detailed review.
guess i’m gonna send in my order now.
BTW other than printing the stuff you want, how can you save each issue for future viewing?
Yeah. I’ve sent tech support a question about saving the issues for future viewing. I’m waiting for them to get back to me.
I’ve come up with a fairly complicated way of saving them but I’m sure there must be an easier way.
The tech support said this in response to my question about future viewing:
“You would need to save the original email that contains the link to the issue. You could set up a folder in your email application.”

I’ve done up a bit of a tutorial of the complicated way that I have saved my issue for future viewing:

can’t you just do a print to file? Should be able to do this with a acrobat.

Yeah thats if you have Acrobat (which I do) but if you don’t you can do this. I think I said that in the tutorial pic.
TECH RANT:
The problem I had as well as this was if you use Acrobat to print to file directly from the internet browser the layout is a bit weird. As in the pages of the mag don’t quite fit properly into the page of the pdf, there are empty space to the right and bottom of every page in the pdf.
Whereas when I got the 132 png image files and then did print to PDF on them, the layout was just as it is on the online viewer. Then I used the OCR text recognition software on the pdf created from the png image files and now I have a proper pdf of the mag which I can search text on.
well what’s wrong with doing what tech support advised, i.e. save the original email? sounds fairly simple.
sorry, i’m not as tech savvy.

Yeah you’re right the best and easiest way is to just hold onto the original emails.
I just enjoy messing around with computers and software and the like. Anyone who doesn’t get kicks from messing with computer software can just ignore my rants on the tech stuff.
OK gotcha, thanks wushu.
altho I guess each email uses up alot of memory, I have max of 500mb .
so sooner or later I’ll have to figure another way to store old issues.

The email only contains a link not the actual 35mb journal. So the email is only like a normal 6kb text email.
hi wushu did you answer this already?
but when I use the print option from the digital format I get this scanned photo image of the article, image quality is poor and text is blurry.
am I missing something?
thanks

I didn’t find the image quality poor. The resolution on the printed version I saved is 862x1294 pixels, which is pretty good.
just got my June issue of the digital format.
still there is no “download” feature altho the tutorial speaks of one.
maybe it’s my computer or printer but the job is just a scanned photo image of the each page, and so blurry not even legible.
300 x 300 dots per inch is maximum i get.
I actually went into my local newsagent today looking for a copy of MILO. Needless to say they didn’t have any…
