Anyone ever read material from Juan Carlos Santana? He has a great deal of material on building functional and core strength. I’m surprised that Testosterone never asked him to write an article for them yrs ago.

Does he publish anything for free? His website doesnt even have free articles just posted to present his ‘wealth’ of knowledge. I was handed a book by one of his fans, in all honesty, it was lame. Nothing new, nothing innovative or interesting, just a marketing gimmick which is what most of these ‘functional’ guys are.
Seriously though, Santana just wouldnt even come close to cutting it here. With guys like Davies, Waterbury, Thibaudeau and Staley and now Kelly Baggett posting Santana would seem…ignorant. There I said it. I hope some one legged bosu ball humper calls me on that.
Off to the gym now to do some core work. Get it? Core. Functional? haha
Nevermind.

I really don’t understand guys like JC santana and mike boyle, these guys make alot of money off of what knowledge base? It really doesn’t seem like they have that great of a base, yet they train these high level athletes. I think it comes down to the fact that even elite athletes don’t want to get down and get dirty, by that I mean power cleans and snatchs and 3 rep bench pressing
Being a trainer myself and seeing what’s out there I’ve come to the conclusion that us T-Nationers are living in a fantasy world where pling, strongmen, oling and bbing training is tops.
It sad, I got turned down for a jobs because the guy told me " I’m not convinced how functional your training can be"
Well when was the last time anything in the weight room wasn’t functional?
