Fallout 3 is in my top 3 best games of all time. I originally bought it for PS3 and ended up buying the GOY edition on 360 as well. I have literally spent entire Saturdays just wondering around the wastelands of DC just exploring.
lol Damn I thought I was the only one who did that.
Dude, Bethesda gets their moneys worth from me that’s for sure!
My goal was to clear that whole map.
Lol, that’s like a part time job.
Yea and almost got me divorced.
Well that’s no good. I can’t say wandering the waste lands didn’t result in a fight or two on my end either though… Those games are addicting as hell.
Yea have not had one grab me like that since either
Ya, Fallout New Vegas and Skyrim both got me pretty good, but not like Fallout 3.
Any plans for a Fallout 4?
Nothing has been announced yet as far as I know. I would think 2016 at the earliest.

Agreed! Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas and Skyrim were some of the best games I’ve played recently.

I think that Far Cry 4 attempted to follow the same formula, but the world felt less interesting and lifeless than with Skyrim and Fallout because when you discovered a new area, it unlocked all new events, missions and areas.

In Far Cry, you’d discover a new area and every single one was either abandoned or it was just “kill all enemies” but no story or substance.

Have either of you played The Last of Us? Not an open world sandbox, but the story was great.

I think I’m part of about 1% of gamers that did not like The Last of Us… I played it for a little while and just couldn’t get into it. I don’t like games where you’re basically helpless and have to sneak around/run for your life. I prefer games where you become unstoppable if you put the time in (like Fallout or Skyrim).

Far Cry 4 is also good, but ya not on the same level.

Are you going to pick up Dying Light next week? Could be like Skyrim with zombies!

I don’t think so. I’m on the fence about it and I’m already getting Evolve on February 10th.

I’ll probably try and rent it from Gamefly.

Do you know if evolve is going to be strictly multiplayer? I don’t play games on my PC anymore and haven’t yet decided to drop the cash for the PSN online subscription.

Ummm that’s a good question. It very well could be 100% multiplayer.

Looks like it’s being called a competitive/cooperative shooter. So ya just multiplayer. 4v1.

Too bad. It looks awesome and I loved left 4 dead. What’s the online PSN subscription cost these days since it’ll be needed to play?

$50 a year I believe.

I don’t really play console games anymore but as I’m at home a lot at the moment and feeling nostalgic I’m thinking of getting just a few of the best games and from what I’ve read in reviews Fallout 3 sounds really good.
It is awesome, especially with all the DLC in the GOTY edition.

However, New Vegas is the better game IMO. Better atmosphere, for interesting choices, and if you are a jazz/standards guy like me, you cant beat the setting and 50’s rat pack style Vegas.

Agreed about TLOU. Good game at best, i traded it in about 70% of the way through.

Uncharted 2 and especially 3 are the superior games, far and away. People dont like to admit it though because everyones a critic and you get no credibility if you choose the blockbuster summer time action flick over the darker tone and tougher moral dilemmas of TLOU.

Im late to the party but as for PS4 games specifically, Shadow of Mordor and Infamous Second Son were both awesome action games and totally worth a buy.

GTAV remastered on PS4 is phenomenal. It took one of the best games of last generation and made it the best game of the current gen. First person mode is a complete game changer.

Killzone shadow fall is worth playing through just cause the graphics are incredible and its a good FPS in its own right, but not spectacular.

Currently about 30 hours into Dragon Age inquisition on PS4. Its a good game but constantly disappoints. It pales in comparison to the standards set by the Mass Effect series. The overall polish, believability of the world and its mechanics, character development, gameplay, narrative. Its just not on the same level. KOTOR 1 and 2 are also much better. But it is the best entry into the dragon age series to date. Its a huge game but the majority of the content is repetitive filler, you will feel like youre playing a single player MMO when not doing missions essential to the narrative.

Far cry 4 is beautiful on the PS4, and a 42% completion playthrough still landed me at just under 40 hours. There is a LOT of content and the guns are freakin awesome, especially the buzzsaw and AMR. Overall i preferred Far cry 3 but both games are great.

I went to buy Fallout 3 on Thursday but the guy in the store was buggering around for ages and then served someone who was after me in line so I just walked out. I’ll get it in the next few days but I may not have a lot of time to play it next week…if at all actually. The days when I can spend hours just wandering around a virtual world and for hours on end are long over.

And as I said, a lot of games that are highly regarded just don’t do it for me any more. I just get bored too quickly. I played the latest Wolfenstein game - The New Order, a few months ago and after 45 minutes I just got kind of sick of waiting for some sort of storyline or something of interest to pull me in. So I haven’t bothered playing it since. It’s been like that with a lot of games over the last ten years or so. Games just don’t interest me like they did when I was younger.

Gamefly shipped me Dying Light yesterday so I should have it Thursday or Friday. I’ll write a review up next week.

I completely agree about the Uncharted games. Much better imo.

Who’s looking forward to The Order 1886? I know Rattlehead is.

Why not just PSN it and preload it?

Nice, I just saw it. I’ve got high hopes for it. I hope the story is long enough though since there’s no multi-player.
