Anyone Else Feel The Same Way ?

I despise bicep and calf work. I’ve cut out calf-specific work entirely because I just don’t care enough to do it. I haven’t done a straight-bar curl in probably 6 months because I don’t want to end up with the wrist problems a lot of people seem to have - I do DB hammer curls once a week instead because it seems like they give you more effect for your time anyway with regards to hitting the brachialis too and I think they’re good for my elbows. I also really hate oblique work but I realize the necessity of it for strength so I do it.

I used to shun arm curls. Then I got wacked with really painful bicep tendonitis- mostly from squatting; but they way my bench shirt “bit” my arm right below the bicep didn’t help either. Now I do a few sets of 8-10 curls (bar or DBs) here and there- it seems like it helps keep the tendonitis at bay.

Nah, for me it’s any type of calf exercise. Have to devote so much time to make them grow and they have very little functional benefit relative to the time I need to spend on them so that they’d grow.

Me two, I really hate training calves. Not sure why…

I hate bicep curls, tricep pushdowns, calf raises, leg extensions…
you see where I’m going here.

Anybody else here think isolation work is a big waste of time? In my experience, isolation work has done nothing for me but waste time I could have spent on heavy compound lfts. But then, I’m ecto/meso so I don’t really have a lot of choice.

I’m sure you’ll all hate me but I fucken hate squats! Barbell curls rock and my favorite parts to work are definitely my biceps and triceps because I love the motions and burn involved. Squat . . . . blows! I do A2G squats because I have to and I know that they are good for me . . . but I despise them greatly.

I despise curls in any form. I do them because I have to, but if I slack on anything, it’s absolutely biceps. I just don’t care too much about them, and they seem to have grown even with my lack of concentration on them. If they ever start holding me back, I may add more work, but I dread that day.

Fuck curls.

Yeah don’t like them.

But I dislike Bench Press even more!
Dear God, a man who understands:I strongly dislike both curls and bench with a barbell. I don’t mind them so much with dumbells but still I’m not too fond. I’d rather do chins and dips.

Curls, abs, and calves. Hate them, but at least I only have to do abs.

Plus, I have this weird thing that only my biceps do: I’ll start out well, doing a weight for around ten reps. Then, on my next set I’ll only get 8 with the same weight. Then, six.

Itdoesn’t matter if it’s a light weight or a long rest period…my biceos just get fatigued and full of lactic acid ridiculously quickly.

Antbody else familiar with this?
I get this from chins and pull-ups. My reps drop faster than Bill Clinton’s pants in front of a woman with big lips.

I am not the typical PLer…my BF is below 10% and I like doing curls.

No flames…lol

weighted chin ups, and bench…

i just hate doing them final. But i gotta do what i gotta do.

When I started lifting, I liked them. Now, I absolutely hate curls, and I agree completely with the guy who hates shoulder raises as well. I will always do curls last in my routine and I feel embarassed even to be doing them.

My hypothesis as to why I hate them is as follows: I’ve grown flat-out addicted to lifting. It’s a drug for me now, but it seems like the “drug” is only involved when I’m lifting heavy or putting out a huge amount of effort. Deads, Squats, bench, rows, chins, even skullcrushers still feel ok to me. But curls and shoulder raises just seem to lack the impact on my body that I’ve grown addicted to. They hurt, but the only thing they hurt is the area being worked. If I squat, my whole body feels it, and I love that.
