Including Bo Jackson, Joe Namath, Jesse Owens, and the first black woman in the history of the olympic games to get a gold medal in the bobsled competition. So please no more smartass remarks. Yeah, I live in Alabama - went to the UA (Roll Tide) but originally from Miami,FL. You know how you tell a married Alabama women from a single? She’s the fat one… Not enough people workout here, it’s one of the most obese states in the nation.
Yes, there are a few lifters from AL that read t-mag. I live just outside of Huntsville and have turned a bunch of my friends on to the site.
Here’s a good flamer for everyone: My observation since being in the South: Too many Southern “Boys” and not enough men. Examples:

Southern Boys don’t have the balls to honk when some jackass pulls out in front of them

Southern Boys are feminized where, like women, they can’t handle confrontation and would prefer to bitch and gossip.

Just comparing this to Southern Florida & the Midwest where I spent most of my life before Alabama. I’ve been to alot of states but am always shocked by the high percentage of Testosterone deficient “boys” in dixie.
Now before you start flaming me this doesn’t apply to everybody. I have some hardcore body builder friends here that would tear somebody’s head off for calling them “boys”… But it seems a way higher percentage of Southern Boys lack balls. Also, don’t give me the Southern Politeness speech, it’s over rated as Southern Politeness refers to stabbing people they don’t like but smiling and kissing everybodies ass face to face… That’s hypocrisy.

Also maybe we could lift sometime. One last note just used southern boy cuz I am from the south. I am a nice guy. I just bitch alot about people who are not educated in training/diet/drugs…and also bitch about people with no common sense. I save my violence for the gym I guess. southern boy - Tuscaloosa… Career has been good here plus my wife is a true Southern Girl - from the area. Work out at Fitness One and at my home gym (a rather large/expensive one but worth it). I would say I know about 25 core hardcore BB’s in T-Town. One thing the deep south has are extremes - there’s the 0 Testosterone types and than there’s the High-T hardcore crowd - not much in between. I’m a bit intense for the area but I keep it under control most of the time since I have a management job and would like to avoid getting arrested. Yeah, if your in the area - let me know…
I think one of my old roommates works at fitness one. His name is Sean Reeve. Do you know him. He is a pretty big guy, of course his knowledge to me is very poor. He runs of his genes. He is a good guy though. I use to workout at BodyTech. That is a pretty hardcore gym. First day there a woman was doing deadlifts with 225 for sets of 10 reps. Lots of juice flowing around that area I believe. I am pissed at them right now cuz they never canceled my membership after sending a certified letter, but oh well. By the way I am not huge. 5’8" 170 13% bodyfat. Just started hitting the gym on a regular basis again in January after graduating. Now that this is my career I plan on workiing out a whole lot more. Anyways that would be cool to train together. My girlfriend lives down there so I visit occasionally. I will holla at cha man.

Southern Boy - Sean Reeve, hmmm - what does he do there? Don’t recognize him by name anyway… Yeah, Body Tech is a great place to crank Iron. If Fitness One didn’t have racketball (my wife likes racketball, so I passify) I would be going to Body Tech. I still work out there as a guest at times, it’s exactly what a hardcore gym should be in my book!
Sean is tall 6’2" or close to that. Pretty built 200-220 range. 7-9% bodyfat. Dark hair, plays basketball alot, pretty big guy, drives a little red truck that a piece of junk lol…he knows it too lol…jk though. Thats the best I can describe him. He is a trainer there.
