For the last 6 months or so, I’ve been experiencing what I can only describe as what feels like tendon or something popping in my left arm whenever I’m approaching the end of the eccentric part of pretty much any pressing that I’m doing. I feel this “pop” starting at my elbow and going down through my wrist and the top of my hand, to the end of my ring finger. It hurts a little bit but mostly just feels weird.
I found the same thing happens if I supinate my wrist while flexing my biceps hard.
Up until now it hasn’t impeded my progress, but last week while flat benching the pop was a little more pronounced, and seemed to also involve the biceps tendon, with pain going through the attachment at the elbow and the shoulder, along with a sudden feeling of instability and weakness in the left shoulder.
I couldn’t finish the set, and afterwards my left biceps and shoulder was hurting and kept clicking and popping (not loud, but I could feel it) and while I was stretching it seemed as though I suddenly had GREATER ROM than normal in my left shoulder.
Hopefully my description wasn’t too convoluted. Right now I’m holding off any pressing movements and playing the waiting game to see if it gets better or if I need to see a doctor. I’m hoping someone with more experience and a better knowledge of anatomy might be able to give me some idea of possible problems so I’m better prepared to explain this to the Doc. Thanks, dudes.
