Anti-Catabolic

I hear the term Anti-catabolic tossed around a lot. You hear that an EC stack is anti-catabolic, my latest batch of creatine says anti-catabolic on it, Surge is anti-catabolic, clenbuterol, etc…

What really is or isn’t anti-catabolic? And wouldn’t it be synonymous with muscle sparing. So in essence eating is muscle sparing so it’s anti-catabolic. Any other anti-catabolic supplements, drugs, oils, etc?

You are correct in that anti-catabolic just means muscle sparing. However, it may turn out that boosting “anti-catabolism” may be more important then boosting anabolism for muscle gains.
