I recently started experimenting with reverse-grip barbell press as an occasional alternative to frontal raises. I feel that raising the weight with a palms-towards-me grip keeps my elbows in front of my body, and isolates the anterior delts well. Anyone have any experience or comments regarding the effectiveness of this exercise?
I do them occasionally with an EZ bar. I find they hit the anterior deltoids great.
Same principle as Arnold Presses.
I don’t see the point of trying to emphasize the front delt anymore than most pressing motions do. Does anyone you know have overdeveloped side and rear delts compared to front?
+1 for the Arnold press. I giant set the AP with front raise, lateral raise and the bent over lateral raise. Hits every area well.
