Anna's Training Log Part 2 (Part 1)

This happens. Especially in math concepts. Plus “intro game theory” is still miles above most peoples’ understanding of math.

Okay, what’s the worst that happens? You go to a different grad school? Still not a bad outcome.

This is one of my life observations, with the built in default that “I could be wrong”.

When you critique or otherwise argue with somebody who doesn’t want to change (at all, not just not your way) and they defend their position, it doesn’t matter whether or not the rest of the world accepts the defense. What matters is that they (the defendant) does.

What’s worse is that each new defense fortifies the position.

@dagill2 , @magick @Voxel Ya’ll are making me blush.

Absolutely spot on about everything. It’s crazy my youtube channel is that old.

Check the ripped physique and monster pull

I was 22 years old there, in the middle of eating my way up to 217lbs.

Hey, for some fun, let’s also pull up a “what did you eat today” post from several years back

It’s not about where you are: it’s about where you’ve been.

I particularly enjoy the graceful bow when you reach down for the bar.

OMG, how much did I love this video?! So much! You’re absolutely NOODLY! Hahaha! I remember the day you posted a pic of yourself in a box store parking lot because the picture happened to be a really good one of your arm. It was your profile pic for a long time. How long ago was that? I guess a while, since “looking like you lift” is not the goal any longer.

Week 8: day6?? Rep testing

This was slated for tomorrow but I wanted a win after the exam yesterday

Squat: worked up to 95kg for 1 then did 90kg for 4, quite happy, especially considering that I did lunges and RDLs on Wednesday

  • I am official back to old strength levels and feel like I’m good for 2 plates- 3 more weeks until max testing

Bench: 60kg for 3!!!

  • this is a lifetime PR and I’ve been chasing 60kg for 4 years now but my bodyweight has increased such that I’d need to be benching 70kg to hit my goal of 1.5x bodyweight

3 hours later…

Deadlift: worked up to 120kg for 1 then did 110kg for 2

  • disappointed but not surprised given how little deadlifting I’ve done. I will need to be deadlifting 3 plates to match my old strength levels and that feels really far away given how heavy 120 felt. I used to be able to do 110kg for 4x2EMOM weighing 42kg :sob::sob::sob:

Press: worked up to 45kg for 1!!! @Cyrrex

  • I hit my goal and a lifetime strength PR (adjusted for bodyweight), this is 95.6% bodyweight, my previous PR was 37.5kg weighing 40kg- 93.75% bodyweight

Overall, this is a win. I can’t wait to hit 100kg (maybe 105?) on squat in a few weeks. That would be huge.

Other noted:
It hit me this morning that even though I’ve gained over 13lbs (weighed in at 103.4lbs this morning) I’m still using the same notch on my belt from before the weight gain and it seems to fit somewhat looser as of late.
My legs are also looking more defined but my upper body looks fluffy (don’t really care)
I seem to store all my fat in my limbs

That’s fantastic! And as you are proving to yourself, a bit of extra BW can actually improve your percentages as well as your absolute numbers.

Onwards to 50!

In other words - you didn’t gain much fat at all. Evidenced by looser fitting belt and pure strength gains. “looking fluffy” is probably just proper hydration

Thanks! I thought I was jacked then too, haha. That photo you were talking about was at the zoo in 2019.

I remember that profile pic. You used that pic when I first came on this site. Hey you should try remaking that profile pic as you are now just for fun.

Dat arm! :grinning:

Or imaginary. My image of how I look changes drastically day to day.

This is true for all of us, yeah.

But the most important thing she said about it was ‘don’t really care’. That is another kind of progress.

I value my lower body more than my upper body.

I hit a press PR- they work well enough, my legs look better and my squat is getting stronger

What’s your ideal aesthetic, lower body wise?

Well, big, juicy thighs and impressive junk. But strange for you to ask me that in this thread.

You kept ignoring me when I tried sliding into your DMs.

I want to look and lift like a natty version of stefi Cohen.

There’s a chick, marissa something, also Latin American i believe, that is/was part of the juggernaut team. I think she lifts in the IPF and holds some records, idk which weight class

I remember her being strong and aesthetic af
