how is the angle of the shinbone during a single leg split squat supposed to be?
does it matter if it?s not perpendicular?
It is VERY hard to get it perfectly perpendicular, I think you should be fine like that.
The more you work this exercise, the stronger your adductors (or is it abductors?) become, and you can focus on less on balance and more on sitting back in the movement like you would in a normal squat.
Sorry if the terminology is wrong, I’m sure you have an idea of what I’m talking about. The split squat uses certain muscles that help in balance that the normal squat doesn’t. Focus on balance for a while and those will get stronger and you can then focus on getting the shin more parallel by sitting back like you would in a normal squat.
