I think it keeps ‘the boys’ stimulated, though I’ve never had that therapy. Its the opposite of the Rosie O’Donnell image described above ![]()

It’s to keep your LH up, short-circuiting the negative feedback loop to prevent inhibition of endogenous testosterone levels. It’s also used to maintain testicular size via the same mechanism.
New to site needed some help getting T-Levels worked out. Been on Adnrogel for 2 months after Low Test of (150) up to 500 with daily 5g dose. Doctor has me holding steady at the moment but brought up idea of switchting to IM Injection with Test Cyp if Insurance is OK with it because I have small child.
Pretty good Insurance only pay $35 for 2 Bottles of Androgel. Also said I could Self Inject if I wanted. Libido has Improved a little but not what it used to be and Muscle gains have been minimal. What level should I be at? 28yrs Old, 175 lbs.
Questions:
1.) Better than Androgel for Libido and Muscle Gains?
2.) Easier?
3.) What Dose should I ask him for?
4.) He usaully only Tests for overall T-Level? Should I ask him to Test for E-Levels and Free Test?
5.) This is a Family Doctor should I see a Specialist?
Thanks for any help?

This is a very old thread. Likely made before other subforums were available.
You should repost this in the “Over 35” forum. There are many knowledgeable guys WRT to TRT in there. But before you post make sure you read the stickied thread at the top of the page in the Over 35. You may find that a lot of your questions have already been asked and answered in the the TRT thread.
HH, this latest report of your HRT expereinces sort of cracked me up, because we are on some paralell universe thing. I had the opposite reaction as you…some benefit from Androgel, but ZERO benefit from Testim despite it’s mother-fucking high price. My T level on a month washout was 170, and 3 months of Testim raised it only to 204 and I felt like crap and had a spaghetti dick. (I always enjoy that I can curse on your threads because you do not give a shit about cursing.)
BTW, I still hate fucking doctors as much as you. They diagnosed me with a pituitary tumor and a prostate tumor this year but then later decided they “possibly” were mistaken.
I am back to t cyp 160 per week and feel close to back to normal, with TT levels of about 700 and E2 at 26. And get this, I’ve kept that E2 down just using that same Novadex (the Gaspari kind, not the pharmaceutical) which surprised the hell out of me. So much for the GOTTA HAVE ADEX theory.
This is still all trial and error and everyone is different. But I took a break from all this earlier in the year thanks to my prostate cancer scare and I can tell you I wanted to go for a one way swim into the ocean for months with low T and elevated E2. There is no going back. Doc

I had one more month on an Androgel prescription (I had recently switched to Testim) so decided to switch for a month. It’s usually a good idea to vary your therapy. After about a week, I felt like absolute shit! No details, but was also lucky to avoid jail time for fighting.
I went back to Testim, and now am feeling much better and more clear-headed.
For me, Androgel is simply crap. Stick with Testim.[/quote]
my boyfriend recently was prescribed androgel & he’s been the meanest person I’ve ever seen. He was supposed to be prescribed it for low free T. But he’s been really sick like flu like symptoms and been seriously angry like he has the kill look in his eyes
does anyone know if the AndroGel packets are supposed to give you serious rage issues??

I guess it could be different for different folks. In my case, my T was spiking up to 2000,about 2 hours after using it, and I never had any rage issues.
How long has he been using A-gel?
What were his lab results after that.
We really need to know his serum estradiol [E2] numbers. Elevated estradiol can make men bitchy. Sorry for that word play, but its true.
