OK, so I’ve finally gotten my scrip for Androgel. Been using it for the better part of a week and am not noticing anything.
But anyways, my real question was related to the accidental transferral of testosterone to other people. My doc gave me a not-too-worrisome “by the way” warning, and the directions for the stuff give a slightly sterner warning…
How long does Androgel need to be dry in order for it to be “safe” for other people to touch where I apply the stuff? My wife is terrified that she’s suddenly going to be growing a beard, etc.
Anybody have more insight?

They put that warning on there for legal reasons. Unless you consciously apply the gel to your wife or kid, there’s very little danger of anything.
Note that a low dose might make your wife extremely horny.
That’s a GOOD thing.

Hey, are you for real about letting the gel dry and putting it on your balls? Wouldn’t that just cause your body to shut off that much more of its own production, if the xeno-test is concentrated right there?
I’m not really feeling any difference yet… the endo gave me the impression that after two days I’d feel like I was 18 again. Gotta wait to months to see him again, then he’ll probably put me on 10mg. Maybe I’ll call him in another week or two. He didn’t seem too hot on injections… told me that the Andro was “the best”. sigh

You’re going to get shut down anyway, unless you initiate HCG injections. I don’t, mostly because I already have 3 kids and my wife doesn’t want any more.
I’m totally serious about putting the gel there. Obviously the gel was designed for your torso and arms, so you can’t put it all down there unless you’re a male porn star. 
Androgel will make about 70% of Caucasians sterile and 95% of Asians. I’ve never read any data on other races, btw.
The gels are an interesting topic. Check out the Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism. Good stuff!

I was really pissed after seeing that episode of House because it got my wife asking questions about my Androgel and I had to convince her that her and the kids were safe. My 4 year old son wasn’t going to start having roid rage from me touching him and transferring test to his skin. That show is usually really good, but the premise of that episode was stupid and spread misinformation.

Ever watch ‘King of the Hill’? Hank has low Test, so Peggy steals a script for Andriol (a drug not even legal in the USA) and hides it in his food. He gets huge and has roid rage and on and on. The characterisation of TRT is just plain bizarre! (The episode WAS funny as hell!!)
