And Still a Fat Guy in a Little Coat

Gettin leaner… can see your lats flexing through your shirt while benching. Pretty cool.

Did the VH Big Shots, She really has a deep growl to her. I have the 05 RK with EFI and everyone is telling me I should put the Super tuner on it and I HAVE to dyno it. Dam that is another 800.00 bucks if I do![/quote]

i had those on fore awhile. the great thing about vance and hines is that they have removeable baffles. i took mine out and cut them and cut a section out of the middle and weldled them back together. i did that a couple times until i got the sound i wanted out of them.

i’ve never dynoed mine. i put a stage one air cleaner on and the fuel pack and tuned it myself.

definitely getting leaner. i had to tighten my belt today and it’s officially smaller than it’s ever been.

deads- this cycle we are making it more of a rep cycle with light to moderate weight. unfortunately a lot of reps and deadlifting is hell on the hands. i tore a couple callouses and they bled like hell today. training without carbs sucks by the way.

elevated pulls- mid shin…these suck. i’m weak as a kitten from this height.

135x8
225x8
315x8
405x8

full ROM deads

seated good morning with SSB - these are simply awesome. these will definitely be in the rotation often.

some x a lot

accessory stuff

overhead press
0x10
95x6
135x6
185x6
225x6
255x6
275x5

top end strict press with elbows out- i videoed this one to show how i do these. this is an awesome movement to hit the medial head of the shoulder as well as the traps. it will also help your lockout strength. the key is keeping the elbows out and not letting them drift forward.

135x6
185x6
205x6

pullups

BW x 10
BW + 45lbs x 8

giant set- wide grip x 5, neutral grip x 5 , wide grip x 5

rope pulldowns

5- 25’s , 4- 25’s , 3-25’s, 2- 25’s x 2

bicep circuit

reverse curlzzz, preacher hammer curlz, incline dumbell curlzz

some x 20 x 3

Strong pressing as always. I like the look of the top end strict press- if you can’t lock it out you drop it right on top of your head.

Sponges on the deads my friend. I’m not going as heavy as you but I use them on all of my rep sets and then scrap them for my singles and ripping my callouses has never been an issue. I just cut pieces off of the foam pads they sell at auto parts stores to put under your back when your working on your car. Works well and cost next to nothing.

spongs huh…i’m not visualizing these sponges you speak of. maybe i’m not sponge worthy.

i’ve been clicking pics when i get a chance of different bodyparts to keep track of my fatloss. i hike through a park area near my house on non-training days with a 100lb vest. when i got back tonight i clicked a couple pics of my calves. they are starting to show some definition and (gasp) some veins as well.

it’s suprisingly hard to take a pic of your own calf…

you’re right, hard to get the right angle. just snapped one of mine so we can compare, will upload tomorrow

shitty pic

you don’t have calves pete…you have cows growing from your lower legs.

squats… my squat day is going to be a rep day for awhile. My focus right now is my bench and dead and i’ll be doing things on my squat day to improve my deadlift as well as build more mass and get some conditioing work in.

today was africa hot in the gym. It got up to 98 degrees today and had to be well over 100 in our gym. i like to sweat when i train but this was rediculious.

buffalo bar squats to a low box- paused

0x10
145x6
195x4
235x4
285x5
325x4
375x4
415x4
465x4

circuit from hell

front squats- paused at bottom and then come about half way up…straight into walking lunges outside, straight into narrow and low leg press…finish with seated calf raise

minimum of 20 reps on all. did this three times

Real hot here today as well. Did a couple of up and back prowler pushes and looked like I had just gotten out of the shower but didn’t smell like it.

I know you are too tough to use sponges but after using them for a week or two they look like this and nobody even knows you have them in your hands.

and then you have sexy meat hooks like this.

That circuit doesn’t sound like any fun in a sauna.

anyone ever mess around with the captains of crush grippers? for shits and giggles i went online and bought the trainer and number 1. i just ordered the number 2. they are definitely addictive. after a couple days of using them i can close the 1 for sets of 20. i’m sure once i get the 2 that will all change though.

My buddy had the CoC’s up to the #2 and he could close that one a couple times but I never could.

He got them probably around the time I started training with you, and after a couple years it seemed like my crushing grip didn’t improve at all, even though I could hold onto WAY more weight while deadlifting. Kind of makes me think crushing grip doesn’t have much carry over to static grip. I have the crushing grip of a little girl though…

Btw, I think Thailand hot would be more appropriate, lol. Humidity blows.

The 2 is pretty tough, but I think if you’re doing sets of 20 with the 1 it shouldn’t be that big of a deal for you. How big are your hands, because stumpy sausage fingers could make closing the higher numbered crushers a lot tougher. For real shits and giggles, you should buy the #4 and see how much you can move it.

i agree with you… crushing strength and holding strength are totally different. i bought them just for fun…give me something to do when i’m watching tv.

all i know is it’s been fucking hot here.

hopefully i’ll get the #2 in a day or two. my hands aren’t overall big but are very meaty. my rings look like braclets. i can see how having big hands with long fingers would be a huge advantage.

being as hard headed as i am, i’ll eventually work my way up to the #4. I’ll probably be buried with it though.

I just checked the Ironmind site. They only have five people listed as having officially closed the #4 gripper - one of them being Magnus Samuelsson. Wow.
