yeah I hear ya but I know I wouldn’t be able to be back benching big numbers 4 days later.
Been thinking about doing some foam presses but I would have to attach two belts together and strap the foam roller to my chest - do you think I could get it to sit right that way?

just slide it under a big shirt. that works for boards as well. i’ve also used a knee wrap to tie it down or a miniband.
deads- this was the first session of the new deadlift cycle. we are going to pull against chains for this cycle. i really don’t know where i am strength wise so i worked up to something that felt comfortable and will move up from there. i worked up to 495 with 140lbs of chain and it was still fast. i was happy with this starting point.
deadlifts against chains
135x10
225x6
315x1- added 70lbs of chain
315x1- added 140lbs of chain

455+ 140lbs of chain x 1
495+ 140lbs of chain x 1
RDL’s
405x6
…shut them down here. i have strength but i need to work on my muscular endurance. i was fried after the deads against chains but i guess i can’t expect much since i haven’t been able to pull heavy since i got hurt.

It might seem weird, but the chins impress the heck out of me. Most guys your size avoid chins like the plauge. This right here, is a main reason your bench is so good, IMO.

thanks. i never really understood why people don’t do pullups either. if a person is too fat to do them then that should tell them that maybe it’s time to lose some weight.

Damn that’s some awesome pressing and you went up in small jumps in weight too.

training is looking solid as always
I think I recognize the young fella running the monolift for you. Good kid, met him at the meet in Winchester. Oh yeah, I was his liftoff guy on his bench attempts, too.
bench’n- week two of the foam press cycle. bodyweight is dropping. weighed in at 243 before the training session. went for a 20lb PR on the foam press. brought it down and was a little off center on the foam so as i pressed it came off uneven but i locked it out.

yeah… i can’t do them very often. they really tear up my biceps and forearms… and not in a good way. one of our training partners wanted to do them.

I know I’m a weak sister here, but pullover tricep extensions are pretty easy on the elbows while still being hard on the triceps in a good way. Don’t know if they’re practical w/ 225 however. Prob’ly flip a skinny guy like you right off the bench.
