Amateur Classic Physique Competition Log

You have good enough abs, that I would think your front double biceps pose would look better with your abs popping.

Also, your lats look narrow. You need to learn to control your scapula where it widens your lats. I can’t tell you how to do that, but if your coach is coaching you for bodybuilding contests, and not just putting on muscle, he should be able to teach you how to control your scapula both to widen your lats and to push your traps toward your ears. Being unable to do both or either puts you at a disadvantage on the stage.

I will ask my posing coach couch it, thanks @RT_Nomad

I have another posing video from last night but I can’t upload videos for now because I’m a new member again

Screenshot from posing video in gym today

You have too much arch in your back to see any significant amount of detail in your back. About all that is shown is arms, delts, and traps. Plus I have no idea how you are displaying your legs.

Good yoke.

One thing that I noticed with Stu Yellin and the guys he worked with (quite successfully) was big honkin freakin triceps. They’re 3 of the 5 heads of the humerus, and they make a hell of an impression.

Just my completely unprofessional opinion, but you gotta get them Stu guns. Bi’s are great, but tri’s = trophies :trophy:.

Screenshot from posing video last night recorded in 4k 60fps, I’m noticing much more detail than pictures and screenshots from videos taken on my front facing camera

Your right oblique looks asymmetrical compared to the left oblique. If that is the case, I would try displaying your abs such that the asymmetry is not so noticeable. This is the first pic (pose) that seemed to show that.

@Ectomezo
sorry i cant help with posing info as not my thing but following this thread as @RT_Nomad 's posts are just great.
The level of knowledge being freely shared is amazing and everything I love about TNation.

My abdominal and thighs looked way more aesthetic when I wasn’t on bulk, I can’t wait to lose the love handles.
Quick question, would the judges and cameras be lower than stage level? So should I put my camera on the floor for more accuracy in what the judges will see?

We don’t need to consider this nuance. I had only competed in a couple contests where the judges sat at the same level as the competitors (judged in gymnasium.) But if you think placing the camera on the ground is best, place it as far from you as the judges might sit. The farther away the smaller the angle of incline for viewing.

Try to start posting pics that show your legs for me to best judge your physique.

Ok, i will try. I just did some posing, I like posing in the cold. I’ve been on 126mg of testosterone for about 8 weeks now, my last deca administration was around 8 weeks ago, it feels cleared, I’m considering a pct before my next cycle.

Curious… you are basically on a replacement dose of testosterone. Why come off Testosterone at all if this is your career aspiration?

I know you have a fairly nice vacuum. I don’t need to see that pose unless you want critique on the entirety of the pose that the judges will be seeing. That is, legs and all. It would help to crop the picture to get rid of the vast background.

You need to get pics in the same light as all others. This is a low rez pic that shows nothing but you pulling a vacuum. There is no detail.
Find a spot with good lighting and take all pics there.
Also as @RT_Nomad suggests if you want critique on posing you need to go through the poses. Get pics of the mandatories with the appropriate attire on. Legs are part of the poses.

The amount of people I’ve heard quote the 2/3rds things is baffling to me. This is simple math haha. There are three heads to the Tris and two for the Biceps. It is 3/5ths as you said. Just thought it was worth mentioning, as it is a common meat head misconception.

Its a prime fraction with two odd numbers. People inherently hate those.

Like so is ⅔ but there are two thirds, so its ok.

I remember McDonald’s cancelling the 1/3 lb burger, and saying they weren’t selling because too many people thought it was smaller than the quarter pounder lol.

Should have made them 2 for one. Then it would have been ⅔. That would be a big hit!

I find that even the discussion of this carries an implication of an “or.”

I was never interested in just my triceps size. I wanted bigger arms. It only makes sense to train both biceps “and” triceps, with the same amount of dedication.

Reject the tyranny of the “OR” and embrace the genius of the “AND”

But with solely simple math, it is assumed that all 5 heads have equal volume.

Totally agree. I am currently dedicating some time to bring up my poor arm size. I am mostly going with a high frequency approach. Training both biceps and triceps 4X a week. I am not doing full arm workouts for 4 sessions a week just to clarify. It’s about 5 sets for biceps and 5 for triceps 4X a week. I also moved them closer to the beginning of my training, when they used to be at the end. Assigned a bit longer rest between sets too.

If you have any pointers, I am all ears.

True, and it might be an incorrect assumption.
