Am I Doomed? Vegetarian Ecto Bulk

But the fishes are killed for the “product”. What’s the difference?

I’m not grilling your beliefs, but…

Yep. Logic Error on that one, mate.

I won’t go into the fact that for dairy products cows are forced to expel milk over and over again. Its not exactely torture but I’m sure the cow would rather be somewhere else.

And eggs! That’s a future baby chicken, albeit not fertilised, but you are actually intervening and preventing them from being fertilised which is not particularly nice.

A better question would be why is is morally right to kill plants?

It’s not impossible to succeed as a vegetarian, but it’s definitely more difficult. Three problems immediately come to mind:

  1. Low nutrient density, especially for an Ecto, this is going to make it really difficult for you to consume enough food to achieve your goals. Have you seen what 6000 calories worth of broccoli looks like?

  2. Incomplete proteins mean that you’re going to have to be exceptionally careful in creating your meal plans.

  3. Rules out many good supplements.

Only vegans are doomed, drink lots of whole milk and eat lots of beans. Thats pretty much all I eat because its cheap, and I get good size fast.

I’ll say I respect your decision to not eat meat. There’s nothing wrong with that in my book at all.

You can go far on eggs, nonfat milk and whey protein. Just eat 1 to 2 grams (I prefer 2) of pro per lb of lean body mass. Don’t count the protein from vegetable sources although I’m not sure about soy (I don’t eat it).

So there you are Mack Danzig. Glad you weren’t serious about the 240 bulk.

It is worth noting that the dairy cows are forced to be pregnant almost constantly, a byproduct of this is the veal industry.

I am also a vegetarian.

I get my sources of protein from:
free range eggs,
skimmed milk,
mixed beans,
soya,
whey,
quorn,
cottage cheese.

My daily meals include the following:

I eat 12 eggs (3 yolks), and drink a 2 liters of milk a day.
I cook 3 cans of mixed beans with minced quorn with tomato sauce and pasta.
After waking up and after workout I consume whey blended with oats.
Before bed I eat 500g of cottage cheese and 5g of flaxseed oil.

I obtain omega-3 fats from flax-seed oil, since fish oil is non-vegetarian. Make sure you intake enough omega-3, since a vegetarian diet lacks it.

Anyway, I hope that gives you some ideas. It IS possible to bulk on a vegetarian diet, you’re not at any disadvantage nutritionally if you eat right. Basically eat alot of eggs, drink alot of milk.

That being said, I don’t want to get stuck in an elevator with you, dude. That sounds like a recipe for spontaneous combustion!

Also I make sure I carry a bag of mixed nuts with me where-ever I go. A vegetarian diet has low fat content. So I obtain most of my fat from nuts. But be aware that the omega 3 to omega 6 ratio must be 1:4 or higher, and nuts contain substantially more omega 6 than omega 3.

I’ll hang u kids upside down from a meat hook then beat u till you die.

Then we’ll talk about whether its “morally right”

You are sadly mistaken…all top ones have.

I’ve had the displeasure of eating soy. Not a real replacement for protein. If he can eat eggs then fill the stomach up with raw milk and raw eggs.

1 gallon of raw milk and 12 eggs a day should do it!

Where does fish oil come from? Are little fishies actually minced to manufacture fish oil caps?

You are going to have to stop taking fish oil to remain a true vegetarian.

High fives all round for us omnivores!

eat algae, I’m sure someone makes an epa/dha product from algae. Fish do not make epa and dha. they store it from the algae they eat.

True enough. I was just trying to show that people should be more open-minded about what they are eating. Many just shove food in without think of where it came from and what was done to bring that food to their dinner table.

I think you should listen to Vege_build. He has the right idea. 240lbs. is rather bold for anybody, but I for bulking meat free, this guy knows what he is talking about because he’s been there.

MRP’s are Meal RePlacement drinks, or bars. They typically have very high protein of whey, casein, and/or soy proteins. They also have decent amount of carbs and fat, but it’s pretty much all clean. They are typically focused on macro-nutrient content and is typically balanced. Metrx was the first one and still a good product.

They sell Metabolic Drive Complete which is also a good product. Their purpose in life is to be an easy meal in between meals as well as take the place of meals. They would be an important piece to a for a bulking phase. It adds clean nutritionally dense calories any time. The only problem, you get sick as hell of drinking them.

I like cashews and almonds mainly, how are those? Are they good nuts or bad? I mean I can kill a can in a single sitting…

I avoid it because of all the esterols. Inari sushi is good and I’ve had some tasty Mockduck dishes. It has a decent amount of BCAA’s in it but its got a few wholes in its amino acid profile. If this guy wants too lean up he should go with a good protein shake and eggs.

Haha, that made me laugh. Your body gets use to it pretty fast. Theres an article on here where it says how long it takes before eating beans doesn’t cause gas. I think its because your intestinal flora adapts to processing them

I’ll bet you Mad Money that Bill Pearl ate a ton of steak while he was competing and taking steroids. I also bet you that he hit is “vegetarian” stage later in life after he stopped competing and stopped taking steroids.
