Thanks for your very kind words. Yes, I do take progress pictures.
You might be right about the running – I’ve seen conflicting views. There are strong people who run and strong people who never do any cardio. I kind of don’t want to lose my endurance; starting up running again after your lungs, heart, etc. have gotten unaccustomed to cardio is really unpleasant (I’ve been there.)
And I guess, reading that article and looking at myself, I am Britney post-situps. Such is life.
“…reading that article and looking at myself, I am Britney post-situps. Such is life.”
Hey, there is nothing wrong with that. So long as it is your choice and you are aware of the potential result. I only pointed the article out to add to your information in making your personal decisions to go further with. Life IS about choices and more information allows for more satisfying choices and more satisfying outcomes.
I wanted to tell you that your pics on t-vixen 2.0 are amazing as always. But dont be too hard on yourself on the box squats vs squats. You’re in way better shape than I, but i’m doing box squats too at a really light weight cause i cant do regular squats. But I can leg press 455 @ 15 reps easily and as you can see that’s not my max (but they tell you that a way to improve on squats is by doing leg press), so your progress is amazing…give yourself credit for that ok.
and remember you can lift heavier doing box squats than you can regular squats. another trick i learned so you can transition to regular squats easier would be to use a seat lower than your knees. So that when you’re box squating you’re having to go lower than normal and make sure your form is good. I’m not sure if you’re doing all of that, but I hate to see you distressed. You’re a very hard worker and i love seeing your progress
Terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.
cleans: 1x5@45, 1x5@65, 1x5@85, 5/3/2 @90 (PR!) 1x5@85
standing press (harder than seated) 1x5@45, 1x5@65, 2x5@70
squats 1x5@45, 1x5@95, 1x5@115, 1x5@135
Middle-aged guy told me I was using too much weight on the presses; probably true, since my form was a mess, but REALLY got me down (pwn’d by a man my father’s age.) I have to get more mentally resilient. My squats were a travesty after that.
