Alisa's Training Log

So, apparently cookies are good for gym performance.

DL: 10@65, 10@115, 10@135, 10@155, 5@175, 5@195, 5@205, 5@215 (PR!), 3@225 (PR!)
My sticking point here seems to be the lockout. Suggestions?

bench: 10@45, 10@65, 5@85, 5@95, 5@105, 2@115, 1@120 (PR!)

squat racks busy, so did DB stepups instead.
5 each leg @30’s, 5 each @35’s, 5 each @40’s, 5 each @45’s, 5 each @50’s.
This turned out to be a bit of a grip workout as well. Youch!

planks: front 2:10, side 1:05.

My latest motivation song:

Great DL PRs! Similar to squats, if you limit volume at the lower end you might get more at the top. You could get rid of the 65, do a couple of 5s at 135, and then go up from there maybe. You could likely get rid of the 205 next time as well and try 235.

Fantastic! Two PRs in one session, good job. I agree ^^^ if I did that much volume before my PR attempt, I would be suffering.

How high are your stepups?

This was to a box, the kind they use for squats; I’m not good at estimating heights, I’m afraid.

First time I’ve tried step-ups since a few months ago I tried doing them on a bench. Benches, however, are squishy, and I was terrified of falling. Boxes: much more stable.

what kind of cookies are you eating?!?

Great work!!!

Roidz cookiez, apparently.

Yesterday’s food: 1458 kcal, p/f/c 149.1/54.4/62.1

I want to try Valeria today; I’ll probably only be able to handle “good”, so there the bench will be 75, the deadlifts will be 135, 5 pullups, and 45 for curls.

Have fun with that  it kicked my ass

It is a nice change up

Have a good day

Back to work

With all those PRs, I sure hope you are planning on competing in that upcoming meet!

Oh, I’ve already talked to the guy. Too late to turn back.

Competition?

Yeah, a local USAPL meet.

Valeria time: 4:32.
I really have to move up to the next heavier level. This was like cake. I did the deadlifts and bench all in one set of 21. I’m trying to figure out how I could have cheated, but as I recall touch & go deadlifts are okay for this, so I guess it’s an honest 4:32.

Then light fun stuff.
Overhead squats: 2x7@45, 5@55, 1@65 then got scared of dropping it.
leg press: 10@215, 3x10@305
leg curls … don’t remember
adductor machine … don’t remember
15 one-armed pushups because I’d just seen Rocky and wanted to try.

That’s damn impressive! If you’re as athletic as your numbers show you should think about trying some muay thai or jiu jitsu.

Never thought about that but it might be fun.

One of my workout partners does jiujitsu, and she has a ridiculous vertical jump though. I tried to imitate her and it’s not even funny. She can also land noiselessly like a ninja. And she’s been a model. Some people have it all.

I squat more though.

Haha I’m more impressed with squats cause when someone is pressing you against a cage/wall/ring to take your down their leg strength matters far more than their vert. You should join her in a class sometime. I like the evil cackle too.
