“Real” as in correct squats. Because I was a couple inches high.
Goddamn I get so embarrassed around these people. From now on I have to affect a persona who doesn’t give a fuck.
Heh don’t worry, my squats suck as well. You’ll get there. For me, it’s all about improving hip mobility. I’m sure I’ll get there before too long. Same for you.

Get angry instead. I love training with my guy because he doesn’t pull any punches. He stands behind me when I squat. A couple weeks ago he was behind me telling me I was getting lazy and cutting them high (on sets of 8 after deadlifting). I was told to suck it up and get my ass deeper. I find it makes me angry, motivates me and turns me on just a bit.
See if you can channel some of that. It works much better than embarrassment ![]()

if you lie about it long enough, it will become true.

the weight room is the only place i can go straight from angry to turned on. more fighting couples should install home gyms.
Yeah. Angry. I usually forget there’s such a thing as getting angry. But I’ll give it a shot. I have to deadlift tonight but I just want to sleep.
Also, working out with the bf invariably messes with my head (in the “Oh God I’m going to let him down!” sense) but that’s irrational and nobody likes the crazy chick.
Angry works for me. I always put on a nice murder face when I’m about to lift something big. For dumbell rows, my trick is to picture someone I hate lying on the floor and then me ripping their windpipe out with my bare hands. It’s therapeutic, and it helps me shift big weights. Win-win.
i can’t really do the anger thing. i’m not the see red or get pissed easily type. i envy you girls who can light an angry fire under ur asses while lifting. mega benefit and probably keeps you from taking that anger out on the masses.
i’ll be checking the mailbox for dem cookies! must contain chocolate, please.
angry music helps! ![]()
too much work, too little energy.
1752 kcal, p/f/c 124.9/97.5/70.6

no, it really doesn’t. I keep telling people… there’s no “off” button, just, “volume.”
hey are you keeping track of how many kcal she owes you each week? 2bucks and change today…
(hi alisa. I’ll just keep talking about you like you’re not here.)
Oh, go right ahead. Don’t mind me.
I hate all this fucking food. You’re getting chocolate, like it or not.

High calorie blended shakes are the ticket if you are tired of chewing.

fish oil adds some easy extra kcal as well. so does olive oil and coconut oil.

I agree. Add 'em right in the blender. I should add that the blended drinks shouldn’t be viewed as replacing food just as a supplement to regular eating.
Ah, it’s not the actual eating – I enjoy that. It’s that it freaks me out to know that I COULD eat less but I’m choosing not to. I got used to sticking to the minimum.
You’ll be glad you pushed past it in the end.

Gotcha. I fall into the same trap too sometimes. I think it is worse for women as there is so much societal pressure to be lean. Super lean and becoming strong is a tough combination. Better to become a bit soft (which you will carry very well…I think you will just get more curvy) while you get strong. You can lean out next summer when you want to show off your hawt abzzz ![]()

Dang alisa, i kindof wish i had your problem, i love food, and limiting what i eat is kindof tough for me. If i wasn’t careful i would easily eat 5000+ calories everyday.
Well, it’s a pain. All I ever wanted was to look like Anna Karina and now look what I’m getting into. Ah well.
Today I’m going to see what I can do in the squat and deadlift department.
