On that 8 am thing above. I’m always trying to make this math work. Help me out. So lean freak gets up at 8 am for cardio and some think that’s funny. So, let’s say he goes to bed at 12 am, which is not really late. So he’s getting 8 hours, and you’ll find elsewhere on this site and other places how important that sleep is. My question is: is the 5 am guy really going to sleep at 9 pm!!! I don’t believe it. And if not, then you’re missing out on recovery.
I guess the point here is that wake up time can only be usefully analyzed if we know to-bed time, and I always wonder if these 5 am types are really going to bed at 9 pm, especially in the summer when it’s just dark. I really just don’t believe it.[/quote]
Small hijack here. Half the week I have to work at 6am and I usually get to bed around 8pm the night before because I wake up at 4am to make it to work on time. What is so hard to believe about that? I find it hard to believe that people think I’m crazy or that it is impossible for them to wake up that early. To me its just excuses because people aren’t disciplined enough to do what they need to do. I need to get up early and I need around eight hours sleep so I get to bed early. Simple as that. No disbelief needed.
From Men’s Health:
“In a study of more than 18,000 men, Harvard scientists discovered that those who had an average of two drinks every day, 5 to 7 days a week, had the lowest risk of heart attack. And researchers at the University of Buffalo found that men who consume that same daily amount have lower levels of abdominal fat than those who drink only once or twice every 2 weeks but down more than four drinks each time.”
Also correct me if i am wrong but isn’t the main substance in the new REZ-V a compound found in wine or grapes?

so basically you dont drink unless it gives people the impression that you are someone that you are not? I am not trying to be a di*k but thats sounds like the wrong reasons to drink in the first place, no matter what rewards there are for it. If you are true to yourself than people will respect that.
Its been said several times but it boils down to moderation. Virtually anything in excess is damaging. keep it in moderation and you’ll be fine.

I understand what you are saying. I would be lying if I sat here and told you that getting drunk isn’t fun, but it contradicts most of my short and long term goals.
So I try to the save the rare occasions when I do get drunk for the times that I view it to be most important. Going out with my best friends on the weekend and getting hammered just doesn’t qualify as one of those times given that I see them so often.
And yes, even the CEO of my company knows I don’t drink often, and I come right out and say it to women, but those two situations are a good time for me to “take the edge off”.
I probably should have explained myself better in the previous post.
drinking a lot of beer makes you piss alot of nutrients out. you can counteract this if you take a multivitamin before you drink, or eat a healthy meal before. red wine extracts are in many of the anti estrogen supplments. rez-v and t-tech are two that i know of. if lifting makes you happy then lift, if drinking beer with your friends makes you happy then drink. lifting is pretty selfish if your friends ask you to come drink with em on a friday night.

fair enough, that makes sense.
I agree with your logic…if you spend 8-10 hours a week in the gym it doesnt make sense to hinder your gains by excessive drinking.
