Advice on Which GHR

Looking @ 2 glute ham raises devices from newyorkbarbells.com

Curious if anyone had experiance with this 2 machines.
Or if anyone has heard reviews from these 2 machines.

The 1st one is $500 with step stool

The 2nd one is $500 without the stepper.

I have seen both on ebay for less with S/H.

I’m just curious how good of quality these 2 are? And what is the biggest differance?

Also, I’d prefer a GHR where the pad is a solid 1 piece, VS 2 individual pads

Also,

How well is the GHR for hyperextension exercises? And Lateral abdominal side bends? Can it also function as a hyperextension device or roman chair?

I would just try to do some natural glut ham raises (Thib wrote about them in “The Painful Seven”). No equipment needed. IMO a much harder exercise. If they are too difficult then you can buy a big rubber band and use that to assist you.

just a money saving idea

I have this one from Yukon Fitness. It is slightly modified to meet my needs. I cut the lower bar so that it does not stick past the hip pad. I have raised it off the ground about a foot and added weight to the back of it so that it does not flip over on me.

I have done hyperextensions with a 300lb barbell and side bends with 100lbs. I have not actually used it for GHR.

I have had it about two years and it has held up well.
