so im taking this week as full rest week (no weights) but today is going to be a boring day and i wanted to do something. would incline walking for 50 minutes or so impact heavily on my recovery?
It’ll add fatigue / use up recovery resources for little to no benefit recovery wise. If you really need to do it go ahead but it won’t do much good for you. Eat better, sleep more, relax/minimize stress and maybe get massage if you feel like treating yourself.
Why the incline? Recovery walking should be easy and low intensity. There’s no added benefit, in this situation, to the incline. If you can get outdoors to walk, that would be an even better option.
Better still, pull this up on a laptop and follow along:
Really though, at your weight, it’d be a great idea using some time today to hit the supermarket and batch cook for the week. This is a quick and simple plan: Tip: Cook 6 Meals in 60 Minutes
i was wondering about my calorie intake. since im not as active as i was should i reduce it?
i wont go ! i was wondering about my calorie intake. since im not as active as i was should i reduce it?
No. This explains why:
im sorry but im talking full rest week (no gym). the article talks between workout days
For you, it’s the same idea. You’re significantly underweight and need calories. A week of eating and resting is fine.
i agree. i also see you help in the test forum which i currently suffer. low t total at 180 while free 220
This exact same question was posed to me before if I can just find my answer to it somewhere.
TLDR: eat the same way you’ve been eating or even a bit more this week to get the most recovery/fatigue management benefit out of your deload week.
Yoga was suggested and I think it could be a good idea just to stay mobile and promote stress relief + relaxation but excessive stretching and mobility work probably isn’t a good idea if you don’t usually do it or if it’s beyond the requirements of your sport or goals.
thanks good read!
I usually use deload weeks for travel, and plan deloads around travel plans. So while I walk a lot and enjoy life, I don’t do much else.
