What a horrible image. I used to have to fitness test new people when I worked in a gym and I could always tell the smokers because they couldn’t do a peak flow test without coughing their guts up afterwards. Yuk.

I try to think any day an old MF like me pulls 500 is a good day… but I still get disappointed when it don’t go my way…

think I gotta drop back to 405 5x5 for a while, or maybe 455…

Resolutionists, I like that. Most the one’s I see at the main gym I use seem to feel more comfortable with the machines.

Also figured out that maybe the statin doctor put me on last visit might be impairing strength. SO I’m going off for 14 days and see. Since I’m changing other changes it won’t be deterministic…

The reason for the statin is questionable anyway. Really low total, 153 (I’m usually 170+) but HDL was too low <40. Ratio is not bad. I’ve upped the Omega-3s anyway.

Egads. Statins are terrible for muscles. They can cause aches and pronounced weakness. My mom had terrible, long-lasting effects. But I know they are very commonly prescribed . . .

Yeah, they’re really bad for brains too… They are known to de-myleniate nerve cells…
