gym crwded…
Old fat dude who probably hasn’t moved in decades trying to kill himself ego lifting. Way too high weights, doubt he’ll be back after he heals up.
ots of January specialls, hope they’ll stick with it, but at the times I’m not there.

Hammer Strength Pin Select
or
Hammer Strength Plate Loaded…
I’m using machines mostly, do to several shoulder injuries.
I’m using pin select where available as I work out with my 14 year old and I don’t want to take the time to switch plates as we alternate.
The Golds where I’m at has many of both and the Lifestyle’s…
I really like the feel of the Hammer Strength. Except the decline bench and flat bench where the handles are are really low (outer edge just below the end of my chest) and you can’t set the seat back. The range of motion is more then I can do with pronated DB’s. It’s working so I’ll stick with them until I run out of stack for working sets.
My biggest struggles are with discipline. I need to cut fat, last measurement a couple months ago I was just shy of 30%. I also need to be very careful about sleep.
Thanks for pointing out that most here are on the PL side. I’ve never thought of it that way. I’ve just thought of it as some competing, and are supported by good people.
I stick with lower volumes, I keep getting hurt, or have recovery issues when I try volume workouts. I get conflicted because I grow the best under 10x10. SO I keep “learning” the same lesson over and over.
I’ve been trying to keep my son away from the Dark Side (not that there’s anything wrong with it). It just that he’s young, and has a rather good structure for BB type workouts. I also think he would put on size better with 10x10 and should be able to recover. He’s a bunch of contradictions: He wants abz and low body fat. But is a real PR whore.
I saw your kid post in the beginner’s section. It must be pretty cool getting to lift with him. My boy is only three, so we have a few years to go before then, not that I’m complaining.
He’s doing well. It is fun lifting with him. He’s a good partner too, switches weights and seat heights and racks his weights.
3 is fun. I miss it sometimes, but not when he’s mowing the lawn…
Fun January day at the Gym. Went early.
Old guys camping on the machines. Guys who have the new years bug and haven’t moved in years doing things that will definitely hurt in the morningw.
Oh and someone broke most of the pins for the 5lb plate. How the hell do you do that?

Why don’t some dudes pull the damn shower curtain closed when they shower???
Sorry, not very accepting today. Gotta get my “just laugh at it” mentality back.
DL
lost strapsâ?¦ Freudian slip? Woke up with reminder why I started them in first place: left wrist popping hurts, and golfers/tennis elbow tendons hurt both arms.

Hspl v-squat

5x3x450
Read others logs and learn:
Snap, your smooth DL’s showed me what is not right with mine… I get to the sticking point and then get my legs under me again, perhaps that’s why it is a sticking point. Thx!
Canada_k:
I admire your discipline at the table! I’m going to try to get down to 17% BF so your example will help me immensely.
Also questioning the use of straps, I will do my warm ups w/o. I think I can do 2x3x315 with a bit of safety margin, especially since I’ve found new tendon straps.

I don’t consider my DLs that smooth. Lots of room for improvement for me.
I’m not sure I understand what you’re saying about getting your legs under you once you get to your sticking point.
