Abused Bulldog: Just a grumpy SOB

Well, the wife has been geeting updates all day from different parents about the large football tournament three of are youth teams participated in. ( My rant about are leauge was due to issues regarding there participation)

But a few Parents and all three Head coaches learned that Karma is a “BITCH” !!!
They got what they deserved.

My only regreat is that the boys ended up paying the Bill.

Cant wait for the fall out from the youth games yesterday. Im sure ill have to hear about how the other teams cheated or the “refs” sucked ect ect. Which has seems to become a trend during the " reason" a large % of the time any of are teams “lost” (notice the sarcasam). This weekend one of are coaches actually pulled one of are teams with five minutes to go in the 4 th because of dirty play and poor referees.

Which from what Ive heard from one of are parents ( one who is qualified to make that judgement, if i may add)that wasnt the case. Way to represent, are program “coach” great example for your team and great life lesson you thaught the kids. “If things arent going your way” just quit !!! Im sorry, I teach my son there is no shame in lossing ,only in quitting !!

What it was that they where overmatched. These parent and coaches are just to used of playing other programs in this area and winning . There to use to being a Big fish in a small pond. But they went to a big lake this weekend and got reminded that where not in reality Big fishes.

Like I said before I feel sorry for the kids. But for the coaches? Nope!! They didnt have to go to this tournment. There are plenty in this area. But they wanted " competition" For whom? For there own overblown egos? It wasnt for the kids ,Ill tell you that much.. Well, they got it all right!! The three teams they took down ended up with 2 - 7 record. Its nice to know are youth board( or at least a few of them) pretty much pissed on any principles we might of had , to accommodate these coaches. And for what ?

Ive never followed Denver . So i really did know much about Payton Hillis. Until he came to the Browns this year. One word Damn. Why cant the Colts have a back like this ? Look at Hillis :runs at 1:58 , 2 :49, 3;13 and 3:32 . Damn I love powerbacks!!

(DELOAD)

flat db presses: 4 x15

tate presse : 3 X10

seated rows : 4 x 10

That was it short, simple and easy.

Deload… sucks doesn’t it

As for the for the whole football thing… There is a lesson to be learned, for the coaches and parents involved. Unfortunately they most likely have no idea what that lesson is!

As we say here in the South: Do whut!?! The coach forfeited the game 5 minutes before the end because they didn’t like the outcome?!? I played on numerous terrible Little League Baseball teams, but we never walked away before the game was over. That’s about the worst possible lesson I can think to teach the kids.

Lots of testosterone in this thread lately.

You need to lift some heavy shit.

I agree. That was terrible of the coach to quit with time left on the clock. I’ve never heard of such a thing. We’re getting a lot of lessons in losing this fall in our household. My son’s hockey team. Crushed every game so far. The boys on his team need to learn to get more aggressive. But there are many valuable lessons to be learned in losing. Perhaps more so than in winning.

Most of the time i hate deloads. But this time around with the pulled groin and sore shoulder ,this one is needed if I like it or not.

Trust me no lessons where learned by anyone in regards to the Football. To many shallow thinkers involved to grasp the concepts of determination , honor ,self respect or dignity and I can go on.

Thanks for the clip. Great tune. But it doesnt calms me but fires me up.

I shit you not. From what I was told the coach was claiming his players where being cheap shoted and the refs wasnt doing anything about it.Sorry but that dog wount hunt. Ive been down to this tournament two different times.this isnt some small town leauge where the refs may or not be certified .Plus they cant scream favortisem since there teams from other states invoulved. So the coach takes a moral stand and pulls his team. But according to one of the parents this wasnt the case. Like I stated above my source is qualified to say this. But yeah, thats my beef ! What lesson are you teaching these kids. Lets see 1. when things arent going your way its okay to quit 2. Its alright to place blame on others for your own lack of achievement . It just came down to the fact that these coaches went down there was swollen heads and there egos got smacked.

Sorry KP . I tend to be the type that geets over emotional about things. I can be a real Hot head at times.

Cant lift heavy shit right now since im on a deload week. But damn I sure as hell would like to rip a few people some New A-holes.

But yeah im still trying to wrap my head around the event leading and during this weekend.

well I was at the games this weekend and it was horrible. We had two teams walk off of the field with time left on the clock and I can tell you that I cant disagree with the decsion to not continue playing.

The first team to quit was our under 10 team and we had 14 players total. We had just pulled one kid off of the field and called for an ambulance with a possible broken leg.(Fortunatly it was a sprained groin). Within two plays of getting him off the feild but still tending to his injuries our quarter back was being carried off the field also (slight concussion) we were down 24 to 0 and the boys had completly given up and were getting hurt, the coach could not keep track of what was going on and the referees just kept the clock rolling.

Second game was our under 8 team all 6 to 8 year olds. The other team had their kids laying on top of our defenders on just about every play and could not get the referees to throw a flag. I was holding the chains and I was behind the referre the play was in front of us and they pushed our kid in the back out of bounds and he got hurt. Set the ball and started the clock and did not give us any time to substitue or tend to the hurt kid. These were not two isolated incidents in this game it happened on just about every play. We had parents on the side line telling the coach that they wanted there kids off the field so he took a collective decision of the parents standing on the fence screaming and yelling at him to do something and that they wanted there kids off before they got hurt. So he pulled the whole team off the field and we were done.

So that’s the story from the horses mouth. I was there and on the sidelines with the coaches when the decisions were made and cant say that they were the wrong ones.

Great News Folks!!! Not only is my left groin still a little tweaked . But im pretty sure that Ive broken my little piggy on my right foot. Its hurts like hell and it is black .Oh joy this just adds to my wonderful mood as of late :frowning:

Lets cut to the thick of it .Im spent the WHOLE WEEKEND hoping that NONE of the boys got hurt. Are program isnt design to prepare are kids for that level of play. Im sorry its not … Not with the current teams we play. you know what? Id could careless since this program isnt about winning a multi state tournament in the first place. Thats why I didnt send Dakota down there to play with the 12 and under. I wasnt risking his wrestling season to get hurt so he could play for a coach who is only coaching for his own petty selfish reasons.( That coach didnt want to coach it until he knew he wasnt going to be able to take the older boys he wanted) Im sorry but Becca warned a few of the parents what it was going to be like down there. Alot of these teams have kids that are BIGGER STRONGER AND FASTER then are own. But several of are " Coaches" blew smoke in the asses of some of these parents and totaly underminded her warning. So the parents can blame there coaches. Because the first parent that comes to me and wants to complain and cry about it im going to tell them that same thing and turn my back. As far as im concerned this whole post season crap isnt worth it all ! Im damn tired of it !! And thats why im at the point im more then happy to walk away from it. You might not agree with my stance . But its not going to change.

Nope the groin got pulled on my first semi heavy squat session after the last Meet. The toe was done today when stubbed it . So now I have a pulled left groin and a possible broken toe on my right foot . Im walking real funny right now.

Boy, I can’t relate to the concept of being overemotional at all.

So sorry about the stubbed toe. That’s how I broke mine. Not much that can be done unfortunately.

I could not agree more and to add to what you said to try to put an ALL STAR team together in 2 weeks and then adding boys 3 to 4 day before the tourney is desastorous. I can tell you I do not want to go down there next year. 90% of our boys were way to scared to be on the feild with the other teams

It dosent surprise me that 90 % of those kids where scared. hell I was scared for them. Last year when i helped coach the older boys last year I saw it with the 12 and under group. And be honest, i couldnt blame the boys for being scared . Case in point, the team that won the 12 under was a private prep school who is known down there for there Football program. There where kids on that team that you wouldnt be surprised if " a few of them" will Be playing division 1 ball in 6 years. Dont get me wrong , I see nothing wrong in taking these boys to do a tournament but these coaches need to be more realistic. Lets be honest the whole thing this year was doomed to failure . For one as you stress " All STAR TEAM" they didnt have one (as you see i said “They” since I washed my hands of it from the start). Because parent couldnt afford to take there kids or didnt like certain coaches plus you had kids that where going into winter sports.
Also i can tell you the processes of picking these kids was a mess. Lets just say that a few of us other coaches werent asked in that regard or just ignored . Lets just say when I saw a early list for one of the teams my head did 360. Because two of my Lineman where on it . The problem was we werent asked about these two boys. They werent starters one of them was a first year kid who was only playing because his daddy forced him to play. I know some kids where asked because the parents where friends with the coach.
2 weeks doesnt even come close for the amount of practice needed to compete in that tournament. Youll need several weeks, which would take focus off are regular season which im against. Weve now have had major issues two years in a row over this crap. When the hell is someone going to say enough is enough.
