Yeah you need some music with more balls then Nickelback.Try a few of these.

Bulldog, what is your bench max? Not comp. rules, but just gym best.
I am still trying to figure out why my bench sucks. We MP about the same thing, but I am pretty sure that your bench is waaay past mine.

To be honest Strict at this point I can only guess what my best gym max would be.I tend not to max out in training because im gun shy of my bad shoulder and I save it for meets.Going by a bench rep pr I did early this year plus the one video I posted doing a single with the axel with a total of 380 (the bar by itself is 60 lbs).I would say my max is around 405 to 420 give or take. But we both know talk is cheap. The only reason my bench is more then your is that I got lucky with my T -Rex arms.

That’s a big bench!

that’s an awesome bench. i spend some time over in the bodybuilding section and it’s funny how people think a 405lb bench is common. i don’t know about you but in all my years in the gym, i’ve only seen a few people bench that kind of weight. i’m think’n many people are confusing a free weight bench with either some half rep bench or done in the smith or worse yet, on the hammmerzz strength crap.

sounds like you are going to have a pretty good comp.

That’s a damned fine Bench, bulldog. And you may have T-Rex arms, but I have a pretty good arch. So I am not sure the ROM is all that different.

Looking good!

Thanks but before you pat me on the head.I have to stress it just a estimate .Doesnt mean crap unless I put up good numbers at my next meet.

Like I said to “snap” my estimate doesnt mean crap unless I back it up.

Again like I said to strick and snap. Other then that I agree on your take on the bench. Since I first picked up my first weight manny moons ago.Ive only ran into a hand full of guys in your average gym who puts up over 4 plus. And most of them didnt work on anything else.the thing is I feel most keyboard lifters have a twisted view of whats normal in regards to any type of strength trainning. Its to the point that a 500 raw bench is viewed as no big deal.To much blog reading and U tube videos.

The time is coming for me to leave the Cult of 5/3/1 .I feel that since ive been back at it ive been holding myself back by not trusting my own gut feelings and knowledge about myself and blindly following other peoples programs. So its time for me to steal a few pages from the 5/3/1 bible.Turn in my robe and souvenir 8 X 10 glossy of Wendler.

So what program will you be doing? Writing your own?

Whatever you do I’m sure you’ll be putting up ever increasing numbers.

You’ll be fine… Just go lift!

That is the perfect clip for your 5/3/1 departure! Dear God, I hope that mj isn’t able to use The Force.

I wouldnt call it so much writing my own.More like ripping off certain concepts from others that has worked for me and putting them together to fit myself.
