Lol…amen!

Sorry for the late comment. That was a good looking MP. Yeah, there was a little bit of legs, but damn…it was 250#!
I am having a similar issue with the push press. I want to load up the bar, but the heavy loads gnaw at my shoulders and outer arms.

How tall are you? You are thick as a Live Oak.

Also, great cleans and deads. Looking strong!
yeah I know its 250 but I will not be doing a happy dance until I nail 315.im just a greedy SOB when it comes to numbers.

I could work in Push presses into my program but I would have to cut back on the bench so my shoulders could handle the the extra work load.

Im a short bastard. Im only about 5’9 as thick as a old boar would be more like it.

Thanks about the cleans and deads. The cleans are ok considering there not to far off from looking like a damn reverse curl.My shoulder mobility sucks and I have a hard time racking the bar onto my shoulders.Deads im cool with never been the type who likes to rep heavy deads.Plus for some reason with me its impossible to to tell how much I can max by reps.I tend to pull more then I should compared to what I might rep with at a certain weight.

Your right I should cut him some slack. But hes at that age he wants to be a smart ass.But Ill give him some credit I was also listening to " The Cult" Fire women and he doesnt seem to mind it.He also likes the cover of Bad Company by the group Five Finger Death Punch.I think I’ll mess with him and have him try out The Doors.

5’9" must be a good height for strength. I believe that Meat is 5’9". And there are a few other on here.
315# is a magic number, isn’t it. If I ever hit that, I can die a happier man.

Good looking deads. The bench/arm group are scared of them. Keeps out the riff raff.

^^Hell man that 95% of the guys that go there.

I dont know about 5’9 being a good height for strength.Maybe it does have advantages in powerlifting due to leverage factors.Sure the hell dont in strongman. In regards to the 315lbs I just think its a goodmark for any man over 200lbs to shoot for in Mpresses. When a person does hit it,they move closer to the beast level.

MEDIUM…not petite…medium. You’re right though, what am I thinking. 315# would kill me, but I could still die happier!?

So, yall off on a race to 300 in the mp? Nothing like a little comp to help with the motivation. Good lifting.

It’ll be a learning experience for me. I, as best as my old brain can recall, have never actually worked on military press with the intent of increasing my 1RM. I’ve always just done them because they worked the shoulders, seem to help my bench and were fun. Now I have to figure out how to push them for strength…and, apparently, I better figure that out PDQ.

Bulldog - I am guessing that a spotter “touching” the elbows is a no go? lol

Heres the deal .Where I work at is a “foundry”.I dont work with the molten metal.but I still have to deal with the heat in the plant.Lets just say that if I died and went to hell I would not notice the heat.Right now im feeling the effects of work today on my system.

One quick thing. The Usapl Raw Nationals are on a live stream web cast the next 3 days.Powerlifting Watch.com
has a link on there site.

Foundry work can be a bitch. Never done it myself, but have known a couple of folks that worked in similar environments. Sucks it right out of you.

Thanks for the link. I’ll check it out.

^^^ Thanks guys. I just like to keep my Mpress strict as possible.I tend to stick with a narrow false grip on most of my sets.Im still pretty gun shy adout going super heavy, such as doing any type of push press. My right shoulder is junk sometimes.about 5 years ago I had to have some work done on it.Its taken me awhile to get it up and running right.
Didn’t see anything wrong with that press. Let’s see…shoulder is junk and you just locked out 2fidy…I think I may have stepped in it by taking up the Race to 300 challenge. Oh well, nice work. I’ll just wipe off my shoe and start the log Monday or Tues. Which ever day I train Mils.
