About Nutrition When Cutting.

Hello, I’m new to this forum (1st post as you can see) I didn’t want to post at the beginning because I thought that for sure I’ll get flamed but I hope that doesnt happen.

I am kind of a beginner to body building and I have about 6 months lifting. I will go to the beach in about 2 months so I think I’ll start cutting but I have some concerns about nutrition and I will be very grateful If somebody can help me out here.
Btw, I’m following the Body for Life program.

  1. To get lean and lose body fat, should I cut on carbs, fats, or both? (I always since I started have been avoiding fats but I don’t know if this is right) Because I’m really scared about doing it the wrong way and losing my hard earned muscle. And If I cut on carbs I think that my workout efficiency will decrease cause I don’t have enough energy to lift. (again I’m unsure about this)

  2. I heard that protein causes insomnia, so Is it good to take a shake before going to bed? I dunno if this is true or just a placebo effect, but I seem to get some insomnia when taking my shake at night.

  3. After I eat at night, how much should I wait till I can goto sleep? (I dont like to goto bed with full stomach, besides I read that when you sleep metabolism slows down and food turns to fat easily. On the other hand I also read that nutrition before sleep is very important, and If i don’t eat well before sleeping I feel like I’m losing muscle so this is kind of a dilemma)

  4. The protein shake just by itself counts as a meal?

  5. What do you guys think about cla?

I had many questions buzzing in my head but this are the ones that I can think of in this moment. Ill edit my post or post again with new questions I remember of.

Since english is not my first language, maybe I made some mistakes but I hope you guys can understand my questions.

P.S. I’ve already read the 7 efficiency habits of nutritional programs and some other beginner articles.

I’m sorry If this is placed in the wrong forum etc. I just wanted some help.

Cut your total intake below the level to maintain. Keep protein high, Pick Smarter carb choice frutis veggies and get your good fats.

Id say loook at something like T-Dawg 2.0 its all laid out for you easy to follow solid diet.

EAT then sleep have a smaller meal of protein fiber and fats and then sleep your cutting so more than likely none of your meals are going to have you stuffed.

a small one but it is food.

Its a fatty acid aint magic. Before I worrried about CLA id get my epa/dha, omega 3’s etc or get Flameout

EPA/DHA are fatty acids you can get them from varied sources flax, walnuts but your best place fatty fish or Fish oils. Flameout is a fishoil product here check the store very concentrated and has CLA as well

Phill

Not the right type of oils. That’s why Phil was so specific.
