Don’t feel lonesome - lots of us follow you powerful women without commenting. Just look at the page views you have.

You’ve been making great consistent effort and are obviously learning much along the way. I do agree with the other ladies, though, about upping your calories and think you had a good plan on adding the protein to every meal.

Best of training…

George

Hey THANKS, that means a LOT!!!

Sometimes I wish more people would comment though… I don’t bite! :stuck_out_tongue:

Yah - I know the feeling that sometimes you’re all alone on the interwebz.

Feel free to visit us over in the old farts section. (Over 35 lifters)

Hello - I am still around, but not able to post much. This project at work is taking all my time, otherwise I would be reading and posting and playing games. HA!

I really wished I had your drive right now. I am really hoping getting my DHEA levels up to a normal place, will help me a great deal and also burn a bit of this fat off, but right now I am just coasting. I am so tired today. I just wanted to sleep. I think the DHEA is helping in helping me sleep. I will back off my 5-HTP tonight, which I take to help me sleep. I am having too hard of time waking in a.m., Might be hanging over on me now.

Yeah my MD turned me over to an Endo early on. He practices three hours away, so it is a long trip, but I really do think he has helped me alot. I don’t always agree with him, but he does think outside the box, in other words, he doesn’t always rely on blood tests, but does rely a bit on symtoms. he still thinks most of my problems are from my Adrenal Fatique over thyroid, but that it is affecting it. The adrenals produce DHEA and now that I have none, I need to supplement. Just one of the things my doc didn’t watch carefully enough and I don’t push to have done reguarly. I am definately going to have to request different labs, if he doesn’t. Hopefully next time we can get a clearer picture. There is such a fine balance. I look forward to hearing about your next appointment. Remember there are very few doc’s that understand this stuff and the best ones seem to be million miles away.

Send some of your drive my way. I am still excercising, but I am not eating the best still. Nights are killing me. The DHEA is helpful with controlling blood sugars, so maybe when I get levels up, I won’t have so many sugar cravings. I have to say I was proud of myself the other night, I RDL for 70#, not much by some standards, but its my best yet. It did feel good! There has been this gal visiting from Florida. She is very fit and petite. Got some muscle. She squatted 135# the other night and I was so envious. WOW!! Of course all the guys ooggle her and the women dream. LOL!! I guess I kind of admire her.

Well I have rattled on long enough. Take care and keep pushing onward!

Thanks Karen for always dropping by…

I’m interested in my upcoming appt as well…little did I know that I had to go through my GP to get “permission.” My appt with her is tomorrow, and my hubby is coming with the baseball bat in case she has something smart to say about it…hahaha, just kidding…he is coming with me though, cause more than likely, I would be the one to lose my temper is she started saying stuff like “It’s all in my head,” which she has said in not so many words before… grrrrr!

I have been off my meds for over a month now, and the fatigue is creeping back in…so unfortunately, I don’t think I’m “cured.” It’s weird to compare, cause I felt this way for so long, and just ignored it, or made myself believe that all moms felt this way…

I think that is the problem. We have felt so crappy for so long, that we believe that is the way we should feel. We just deal with it. Remember you do work out hard and that in itself is hard on the adrenals. Stress, hormonal changes, excercise, life crisis etc have a large effect on the adrenals

I have a feeling with all the crap I went thru since I was fourty have put me with adrenal fatique. My endo. did mention that the pitutary is not communicating with the adrenals, which makes matters worse. I keep finding out good and bad things about the DHEA and the progesterone I started taking. I guess I am going to have to extra vigilant and watch for signs of too much.

I am so afraid from what I read that the progesterone is partly to blame for this weight gain, but I do think it has balanced the hormones out and taken away some of the symtoms, so I will continue for now.

Sad news, my fiends over at FA have decided to quit posting. Beby24 and amandagano. Amanda has officially closed her journal. Not quite sure about Trish, but I think she is discontinuing also. So many changes have taken place over there. it’s just not the same.

Well I better get back to work.

Later,

fitnesslady

Wow, that’s sad about Amanda and Trish!! Trish was such an inspiration to many…They have been around for sooo long, and I know how much Amanda was looking forward to posting after her baby was born…thats too bad! I don’t think there should have ever been any division, that’s when it all changed…

Are they feeling left out with all the figure girls over there? Are they going to start posting here again?

Hmm, it makes sense about the progesterone and weight gain…maybe the body will stabilize after awhile? I really know nothing about all these supplementation’s that are recommended though…it’s kind of nerve racking, isn’t it?

Todays Training:
3min elliptical

BB OH shoulder press
1x10xbar
1x8x55

2x5x65
2x5x70
2x5x75<–PR
1x5x80<–PR Video or didn’t happen you say? well, just so happens I DID get a video, but I cut my head off, haha…all you see is this mouth making funny shapes…I didn’t realize I grimaced so much! LOL! I’ll post it when it’s finished uploading…

Oh ya, in between I schooled the boys behind me in the video on how to DL…the guy showing them was ok, but I just felt the need to add my .02…they probably didn’t like it when I demonstrated for them using the same weight they had on the bar…

Lat pulldowns
4x8x75<–ego crusher

  • I guess it depends on the machine too, cause I remember being able to do more than that at the gym here on base…hmm

One arm rows
4x10x40

Lat raise machine
4x10x50
will use dbs next week!

Tricep press down
2x8x42.5 2x10x35

Tricep dip/pullups<----using 105lbs of assistance -10 from last week!
So I’d do 5 dips, then immediately two wiiiide grip pulls ups…then rest…Repeat 6 times…

Then I did 5 negatives with 60lbs assistance<— -10lbs from last week…
I am setting a new goal to be able to do AT LEAST ONE BLASTED PULL UP by the end of the year!!!

Cardio-20min INTERVALS-
Jog for 1 minute @10% incline, recover for 90s
my recovery time is IMPROVING!!!

And believe it or not jogging uphill is easier on the knees…and I just read somewhere that when walking on the treadmill you should set it at about 2% incline to mimmick walking outdoors…

That looks spectacular! (esp. those presses – I would love to get where you are.)

…still waiting for that video here! Training looks strong, how are you feeling?

Oh hey Jenny! I’m feeling pretty good…just kinda tired lately…but it’s hard to pinpoint what it is…I think it’s my thyroid acting up…

Here you go :stuck_out_tongue: This is 75lbs.

And never mind that poor guys horrible DL form behind me…I bet he’s going to soar in the morning!! :open_mouth:

I’ll get the 80lb one up next…my battery died.

Haha, I have to be honest and say I watched you first and it looked like cake for you and then had to watch again for the DLing…OUCH!

cough maybe it’s your 12-1500 calories diet cough

Nice presses

Yeah! (Hands clapping!!) I not even near that kind of number. One thing I did observe, breathe, breathe, breathe. Get that mouth open and exhale on the push up motion and inhale when lowering. You were clinching your lips tight.

I have to tell you a good one, at least it made me laugh and don’t get me wrong everyone has to start somewhere, but there were these two young scrawney(sp) kids in the gym the other night and they were attempting to bench press 55#. I sware the plates almost fell off and I just happened to catch and I laughed so hard inside. I know it wasn’t kind, but it was a moment.

Good for you for showing the boys in the gym a bit of correctness. I wanted to do that to a couple guys in the gym last night when they were working on chest with cabel machine. I think if they would have corrected their hand position, they would have felt it more. Oh well I bit my tongue.

Well you keep doing what you do best - lifting strong!

fitnesslady

The presses look great! Very impressive.

Court :stuck_out_tongue:
I’m trying!! Getting the protein up to about 30/meal now…it’s a start!! And the fatigue is the same kind of foggy brain feeling I had when I didn’t know I had hypo…

Jenny- cake, I’m not sure! But thanks…

Here is my 80lb one…

Thanks to ALL!!

I just got back from the stupid dumb dumb nurse I have because I had to make a referral through her to go to my appt at the endocrine place…my hubby witnessed her lame braindedness, and she said that even the specialists will “hunt zebras.” Um, what? That’s there job…the endocrine system is all connected…you can’t just look at one piece of the puzzle and think you have it all figured out, you freakin MORON!!! Mad Thats why the hubby was with me to encourage me to bite my tongue… But the appt is made, and I’m going anyway!!

She continued to talk about a whole lot of nothing, and said that we just have to be persistent with weight loss(meaning, ME, and that I just sit around all day eating crap). Then went on to talk about brown fat and white fat, and by then I just wanted to go home…dumb bitch.

So she just proved to you that she reads the news. The “Brown Fat” thing was on the internet this week.

Ignore the dumb Bitch, take what you can benefit from and ignore the rest as inconsequential. You know the Latin quote “Illegitimi Non Carborundum”? Don’t let the bastards grind you down!

lol, that’s the thing…nothing she has to say is beneficial!! She told me I was “hunting zebras,” awhile back(apparently that’s her favorite line.) when I was trying to connect food intolerance’s and the reaction on the immune system and the thyroid…she thought I was nuts!! LOL!

And lucky me has to go back to see her at the end of the month for a “girl,” exam…she’s the type that would make jokes while she’s at it…

I’m finding a new GP…
