No. But then there has to be a point to your post in the first place. Do big guys who arent world record holding powerlifters have to get stronger to live up to your expectations? the answer is and always will be NO!
my point is that is it true that large muscle does not indicate strength or not

This person doesnt exist; has never exsited; and will never exist.
Substitute “ronnie coleman” for someone 25% smaller and that person STILL doesnt exist.
exactly. Ronnie is not only the largest But also one of the strongest people ever. His strength matched his size thats why he was the greatest.

Come on man.
Your definition of ‘proof’ is ridiculous. An absurdly tongue in cheek statement for a man known to have made quite a few self serving statements embellishing the truth is proof in your eyes? That’s crazy talk

LMFAO yeah that was more for comedy, which was actually leading me to my next question of what he qualifies as large guys? To some people, anyone over 200 pounds is big, so it also makes this thread a matter of personal perception.

The guy I quoted attempted to rectify your statements.
I think he was wrong (the part I quoted specifically).
But you agreed with ME?
Logic fail.
Sorry, youre not being picked on becuase people dont like you. Youre getting picked on because youre saying dumb shit. Bullshit gets called out very quickly here, as you can see.

Youre right, it is about perception.
The problem is that perception gets skewed tremendously depending on the ‘perceivers’ experience level.

It feeds into my point. I’m asked for proof, I quote an authority with credentials that dwarves anyone on this forum, and it does not count. If you ask for proof, and I give it to you, and you don’t accept it, why does it mean i’m wrong. Proof is only as good as the people agreeing with it.
I have seen some genuinely big guys with very unimpressive lifts… Lifts that in powerlifting, would be expected of someone a good 60lbs lighter.
I’m talking about actual maximums we discussed, none of this ‘they were obviously weak because they pre-exhausted or used EXOTIC techniques!’ bullshit conjecture.
Not that there’s absolutely anything wrong with a bodybuilder being ‘weak’ by powerlifting standards, I just find unathletic mass freaks amusing, just as much as the skinny ‘doesnt even look like he lifts’ guys putting up raw 2000lb totals are entertaining and surprising.
I don’t understand why people on the BB section feel the need to defend possible unathleticism in bodybuilding so much, if they’re so assured that performance is a non-issue in BB.

Very true because the people I’m referencing that would call 200 lb guy big are generally 50-70 lbs off from 200 themselves and strictly adhere to characteristics of an ectomorph.

Another man’s OPINION is not proof of anything.
For the reason I about 10 lines up

A large muscle indicates strength potential. If someone isnt training for maximal strength they wont be able to display this true strength potential until they have trained for it specifically. Again it comes down to what they are training for.

If you are over two hundred pounds at average height and single digit Bodyfat then I would say you are large.
Ok this makes a bit more a lean 200 with a 5’11" to 6’2" possibly 3" height (of course as one gets taller it can be harder to put on size and gives you more of a slender/tapered look) range should make a pretty big guy, I would get compliments on my size at this weight, but a “large” 200 doesn’t make a strong 200.

I think if we define strong like what some authors dare to do we can answer that question easily.

I think that not only can they simultaneously But they should Be.
LOL - Post a picture of a genetically elite individual who essentially trains for a living to prove you point.
Guy, we have been over this TIME AND TIME AGAIN. At the highest levels of both endeavors, muscle size and strength require slightly different training methods.
Whats so hard to understand about that?
Will Body Builders tend to be strong? Yes.
Will Power liftiers tend to be big? Yes.
Will the Best body builders be the Best Power lifters? No. THEY ARE 2 DIFFERENT GOALS.

Why do people insist on resorting to extremes. I never said the Best body builders will be the Best Power lifters. I think for a natural trainee getting as strong as possible is the only way of getting as large as possible however this is not true for someone assisted. In short, the best naturals will Be the strongest.

Why does everyone assume everyone who was ever great was always “genetically elite”. I say the genetically elite are the ones with a genetically elite attitude.
now that we got the brow beating down, is there a question to answer?
