Thanks everybody! and yes kimba - most all of us are working on knees out and chest up. mcl is probably the only exception to that rule…
I’m always the exception to the rule. In a few years, I hope to shake a 300-lb cane over my head, yell, “Damn kids! Git off mah lawn!” and then hammer-throw a fire hydrant at them.

Great form, definitely low enough. Given any thought to your openers in the upcoming comp?
Yeah - we’re basically 2 months out now and with the results of this last week, i’m thinkin’
Squat 275 ( Just did a hard triple at 285)
bench 185 (just doubled 195)
Dead somewhere north of 335 but I’m not really sure. I’ll test my maxes at the end of this next cycle around the 1st week of November and really set openers then.
I occasionally entertain the idea of doing one myself, but in my weight class it’d just be embarassing. I’d be up against people like Meat, but lifting – if I’m lucky – half what they are.
Your lifts are still increasing so quickly. Its great you’ve signed up for a meet. For my two meets my openers were something I’d done three reps with. It’s so I got at least one good attempt for each lift.

That’s the way to do it. With USAPL judging you might want to be even a little more conservative with your openers.

Thanks guys - that’s what I’m shooting for: what I can do for an easy triple.

Great plan. And I am excited for you. I can’t wait for the time and your report!
I been singlet/mantard shopping online tonight and have yet to find a single sizing guideline. Do any of you competitors out there have a sizing suggestion for a 6’ 200 lb (+/- 10 lb) beginning lifter?
you may have seen the Denver weather stories on the news and internet today but just to tell you what a little elevation does for this type of weather…
we had full sunshine and no snow all day today but the trees were covered with frost and about 200 feet lower in elevation - it was all fogged in…

Not really. But I’m dressing, as always, as officer Jay Dangle from “Reno 911” for 10/31 so…maybe that helps??? Plenty of support, and plenty of FLAIR too…and don’t get me started about the ladies…

Last one I bought was from House of Pain, they had sizing guidelines on there. So does Elite:
For some reason, I seem to take deloads as a good reason to indulge in too much beer and wine. It was fun but I’m just recovering today. Indulging isn’t doing anything to help reach a competition weight of 198 or less. And frankly, I’m having a hard time getting motivated to drop the fat right now. Winter is pretty much here in the high country and that’s the hardest time for me to get rid of the belly.
