Thanks Ronda!
Now I can curl in the rack to my heart’s content…
Looks great! Congrats!
Curl away!
Also, I hear that elk is a great source of protein, natural creatine and is very lean.
That’s hella cool, Soldog! You got a nice rack! ![]()
Nice rack, great score,
and yes you can squat rack curl in the privacy of your own home.

But I hear you can go blind that way…
Thanks guys - I’m pleased (to say the least)…
Dood, no one else mentioned it, but you appear to have also scored a safety squat bar, and a squat box.
What kind of clean living must you do to earn that kind of karma?

The squat box I made last year, the bench is new and the SSB came with the package.
Karma? must be balancing out some past life…

Cycle2 Week3 5-3-1
Bike 5m, sh rehab, ytwl, face pulls
Sumo DL 135x5, 185x5
230x5, 260x3, 290x12 PR reps
Deficit Sumo DL 165x6 (5 sets)
With the pack surrounding me Soldog in front and Lunadog behind, Shadowdog was camera shy as befits a shadow (actually she got clocked in the head while I was doing the YTWLs so she went out into the hall)
Damn Dog…

290 x 12, great job. Sounds like cardio to me. And by the way, never thought I would say this to another man, but you have a nice rack.

I don’t know about that! Hell, my Cycle 2 workouts don’t even go up to 290 on the DL! I won’t hit that until Cycle 4.
I think you’re stronger than you think you are. ![]()

Your dogs look about as excited to be in the gym as my dogs! So cute. Lunadog is shepherd, it looks like? She is a big girl. What is Shadow–malamute cross? Hard to tell in the shadows like that.
I forgot to turn the speakers off (I am at work) before I watched, and after getting a few weird looks from the kids (I work in the teen section of a public library) I realized that without the visuals, the heavy breathing is a little suggestive, lol.
Looks awesome. I was pulling sumo for awhile, but my trainer switched me to conventional. I will try sumo again soon, to feel the difference now that I know a little bit about what I am supposed to be doing! Emphasis on the “little.” Tonight is leg night, so I will DL tonight!
Nice job on the DLs. I feel like I’m going to pass out at about 6-7, you must be wobbly for about 15 minutes after breaking through double digits.

Looking back - you pulled 20x260 - which beats 12x290 by the 1RM calculation - if you believe it when you get to those high reps.

I’m somewhat doubting that the 1RM calculation is accurate once you get near 20 reps. So much so that I’m going to stop computing it for my deload week. From 1 to about 12 reps or so, it’s probably close, with fewer reps being closer.
Plus, my failure to actually pull 405 this week sort of points out the unlikelihood of 455 being my true 1RM. Unless I was completely recovered, well-rested, and it was the only lifting I did in a week. ![]()
