A Completely Random Thread of Randomness

Wow that’s actually insane! The amount of time and effort it would take to make something like that years ago.

Made me think of the Dead Internet Theory:

Edit** Also that first image has a weird similarity to Joe Rogan in the facial features to me.

She won, but I’m not sure if the fact that she just barely beat several of the average guys reflects the intended impact of this stunt. Then again, she’s not going to go 100% and risk injury for a Mr. Beast video. I bet she had a few more gears left.

Clankers.

I can’t tell if this is real or not. Anybody know enough about electrical engineering to be able to tell if its real or hoax?

My son sent me some of those videos a while back. He’s a HUGE skeptic about everything, so I’m fairly sure it’s real.

Cool. Cuz I’ve used plasma a bit in fabrication for cutting & welding, but its a very dumbed down/user friendly version.

That though, Wow! The guys language cracks me up too. Interesting ways of saying stuff got blowed up!

Talented kids!

Love this song.

My oldest learned to play it on bass as a birthday present to me one year.

Whoa! That’s so dang cool. Sounds like you raised an awesome/talented kiddo.

I’ve seen the Pixies four times in concert but the last time at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto^ was weird. It seemed like the band had some sort of altercation before the show? It is the only full concert I remember where the lead singer (Francis) did not acknowledge the crowd at any time during the show. And there was zero conversation or interaction or acknowledgement between band members; never seen that in a live show.

It may not seem like much when the band comes out and repeats worn platitudes like “Hi there, [insert random city]! Has anybody come to rock!” (Or whatever). And maybe it isn’t. But you miss these things when they are not there (as Amy Schumer might say, like testicles, or grandparents). I found that I liked the band less even though they played the songs I liked. Weird.

^Home of your 2025 World Series Champions! Probably.

All these big brain types want to be the one who comes up with a new metric of some sort. RIR, Effective Reps, etc.

They’re too driven by ego to actually do anything useful in service to the discipline.

We need to analyze the effective-reps crowd too. Haha. I have lowered my reps per set over the past two years and actually feel better but these guys seem to exaggerate the effectiveness of sets of 4-6 reps for everything versus higher reps.

They’re also really jammed up with stability of exercises and scared of fatigue.

I can only guage 0-1 RIR. I don’t know how someone can accurately gauge 3.

Yeah, and sometimes really just 0. Ive never been good at judging where the end was.

Same. My last rep is either “Nailed it,” “Maybe that was a dumb idea,” or “Shit. That didn’t work.”

It’s also hard to hold back when you go into psycho mode as the reps become more difficult.
