Helium has a finite supply. We are running out.
Many of the balloons end up in the ocean. It’s garbage, and kills a lot of marine critters.
Even landlocked critters die from ingesting balloons.
Yes, they are pretty and sparkly and it’s fun but, they don’t magically dissappear or go up to heaven. They come back down.
You learn something everyday!
I’m now sad that eventually there will be a generation who’ve never known the joy of getting all squeaky on helium.

How asinine is it that taxpayers pay for food stamps/EBT cards for low-income people, only for them to buy utter garbage junk food, then become obese, then get all of their associated fat health issues (heart disease, diabetes, lymphodema, etc) once again paid for by Medicaid, & “free” care at hospitals which is then passed on to those who do have health insurance and pay the ever-expanding premiums out of their paychecks. The ol taxpayer “feed em and then fix em” program.
As someone who grew up on SNAP for a while, I need to push back on this. Most of the reason they buy prepackaged and fast food is due to lack of time to shop due to meeting work requirements, not having all the kitchen space and equipment to cook organic sweet potatoes, and even when you hear stories about EBT used to buy shit like cigarettes and Hennessy, it’s not for consumption, it’s to sell for actual cash to pay a bill or purchase an item that isn’t covered.
The moral superiority (especially coming from that tubby turd) completely misunderstands the problem.
