A 60 second plank with a plate is stout. I know that’s probably a lame thing to comment on, but still, hmm wow.
One of my coach’s 148 girls can do it for 120 with 100 lbs. Beast.
Well now I have to try this.
And I highly doubt those green bands will snap. We have them and they’re old and fraying and the guys use a lot more than 365 regularly. I think you’ll be alright ;)
Yeah, I lifted with Snapper and her coach today, and he said the same thing. I’m pretty much just chicken shit.
Benched raw to a single at 155, I am weak. I used to triple 155 for several sets, but it just isn’t there. No one to blame but me. Then we did some band/board work, I went to a couple sets at 185 with mini bands and a three board.
It’s so nice to lift with other people! But then I had to go back to work. I thought I was super stinky, but I guess it was just my t-shirt. I swear I got it fresh out of the drawer, but it really didn’t smell fresh. Sorry, Snapper.
We worked hard on getting Snapper to set up properly. I think she just wants to get under the bar and get going. I try to be a little slower, to take my time getting set up. Before I arch back, I check my plates, pinch my shoulder blades, flare my lats, and tilt my pelvis.
She mentioned how her back hurts getting out of the arch, and we discussed Julie’s back pain with benching too. I heard or read Dave Tate say at one point that a proper set up hurts, or benching hurts, or something like that. I figure if I’m tight enough that it hurts, that’ll just help me increase my speed so I can get out from under the bar faster.
She fights her coach’s handoffs - it’s pretty funny. He keeps pushing it out over her chest, and she keeps resisting. When he gives up and lets go, she lets it drift to the proper spot almost every time.
I don’t think I would be where she is today, had I suffered a similar injury. She’s a tough cookie, and has a great coach.
