A Breath and a Scream

great news!!

for the sick - I always battle nasty fevers, so bad I can’t sleep, eat, watch tv, read ect. lifting would be plain stupid. If your not throwing snot all over the gym, or blinded with fever…

personally I think being sick means the body is calling for a timeout. But I know T-Nation is a hardcore dungeon so I’ll shut up now.

Good girl.

I lift when I’m sick, I just don’t get pissed when I have a crappy session.

Hope you feel better

Rant:

Hubby calls 1-800-Flowers to get Grandma some nice flowers for Grandpa. They send em, la de da. Not cheap. Father in law calls hubby, says “You realize the flowers you sent are fake? Did you mean to do that?”

No. They are supposed to be real.

Hubby calls 1-800-Flowers to get the problem fixed. Oh, so sorry for the mixup, we’ll have fresh flowers to her tomorrow, and a credit to your account!

Three days later, no flowers. Hubby calls again. Flowers arrive the next day.

When the florist delivers the fresh flowers, THEY TAKE AWAY THE FAKE ONES. Seriously. They took away a bouquet of fake flowers from an 82 year old woman who just lost her husband.

That’s fucking customer service there, folks.

That is just pathetic.

As an aside, do you like to go out dancing?

I like to dance, but the spouse doesn’t so if ever I go, it’s with lady friends. You?

1-800-Fuck You is more like it! That’s retarded!

Wow that service IS retarded. Retarded enough for me to place on official complaint about.

PMPM and Snapper first talk about benching and now dancing… this is getting more intersting by the minute

That is basically the worst company to send flowers. There are entire websites dedicated to how much they suck. I always find it best to call a local florist who will do it personally. Small business owners do a much better job at things that require personal touches - like flowers.

Yep. I love it. My husband loves to watch.

Good news on the mom front. Bad news on the flowers. Unbelievable, actually.

My head is about to implode imagining what “dancing” could mean in Colorado-speak.

Glad to hear about your mom, but sorry about those flowers. I hope you’re feeling better!

Have a great holidays PMPM!

That’s outrageous about the flowers. Jeez. What a load of crap.
Great news about your mother, though. That’s the best Christmas present.

Happy Christmas PMPM!

Thanks, Hallie!

Squatted to 3x365 with reverse bands. The second heaviest. Trying to gain confidence and speed on the descent, as instructed by Snap’s coach.

I need help with them. I was definitely squatting down, not back. And I’m scared of the bands snapping. How much will they take? Anyone?

Then I pulled 135 and 185 for singles and doubles with the same bands doubled under the cage. AWESOME lockout and grip work.

Squats were with belt, deads were conventional with nothing.

T bar rows, 10x45, 3x8x90, 3x6x115. Planks, 3x60 seconds with a 45 on the back.

Depends on what bands you are using.

Green Woodys from Lifting Large. I’ll post a pic later.

bands on squat

Bands on dl

This is how we are currently using bands. So maybe R can enlighten you tomorrow. I can understand your trepidation. If those bands snap, you’ll be a hurting pup.

Is Colorado comparative fault for products cases? If so, you need to stop posting about all your pre-band-failure safety concerns and start posting about your high-safety-comfort level with the product based solely on the manufacturer’s specs and safety representations.
